I got a great answer about Princeton....but what is MIT like??
so I'm asking again: Should my sweet humble. curious, caring-awesome awesome kid, go to Princeton or MIT??
He got early decision acceptance at both-the tuition is not an issue...I want to know about the daily life and all around experience- Is MIT too stressfull/competitive?? But MIT sends its acceptance letter in this cool tube w/confetti-so it can't be too bad, right? But...will it make his head explode? what are the living arrangements like? high school was all work no play (obviously or he wouldn't have this decision to make today) so I want most for him to enjoy his college years & find his niche.- He is interested in Computer science and math...funny kid, dry sense of humor, super mature For fun he likes computers, sport of fencing, cars. Of course he will go where he decides to go but I can kind of tell he is sort of sick of all the competition-...

1. You should have him visit both schools, and spend the night with a student in their dorm room. Then take a tour of each campus.
2. Go to the bookstore and read some of the books that have been written about the colleges. You'll get more objective opinions there than you will here.

My opinion is that MIT is better for Computer Science and Math, but that Princeton has a better overall reputation.
