I like my steak either grilled or pan fried. I guess grilled is my first choice.
Get a steak between 1 - 1½" thick. Rub with your favorite seasonings. I like a rub of garlic, rosemary, and black pepper. Oil the grill. Grill over medium high heat for about 5 minutes per side or until done the way you like it.
Invite me over. Serve.

Out side on Charcoal grill. Worchester Sauce, and or favorite BBQ sauce. Good and rare with blood running, or medium rare or medium well depending on how you like it.
Note:
Considering where meat is coming from these days and lack of USDA and FDA inspections it is best to bite the bullet and cook it at least medium well.

What cut? Is it a tender cut or tough? Tender, can be grilled with just salt & pepper and a pinch of garlic powder. Tough cuts need to be braised ( in a liquid ) after browning, to tenderize. Wine also helps, here.

Prefer mine grilled, but otherwise fried on a cast iron skillet. I use only a little bit of garlic salt.
