On carpets you leave it down for two or three days and vacuum it up. Then you retreat again in ten days. And again if needed in ten more days after all the eggs have hatched. I have never heard of anyone putting borax on tile floors.

No need to leave it on the tile floors just mop as usual. Do vacuum the baseboards!! Now the carpet is another story. I left the boric acid on the carpet for one week. Vacuum, Vacuum, vacuum. Good news though....Researchers just discovered that A vacuum will kill the fleas as it vacuums them up. IT peels the outer layer of of the fleas and kills them. Had this problem several months ago and am still looking in case it ever happens again. Good Luck!!

Earlier this month they had a huge article in the news about how 99% of fleas that are vaccuumed up are killed in the process of them being sucked up, so just vaccuuming will go a long way to controlling a flea problem.

The boric acid is supposed to dehydrate the young fleas and eggs, killing them. A good room dehydrator will do the same job.

If you don't have carpet, fleas live on tile. Anyone that doesn't think fleas can live on tile is crazy.

Fleas aren't living on your tile floor.. They are under baseboards, in the couch, in the carpet..

You don't have to do anything to tile except mop it. The fleas aren't going to live on tile. They will live in carpet.
