Have him listen to English radio. Just put it on, he does not have to pay attention to it. He will subconsciously learn to hear the sounds of English and quickly learn to repeat them.

Also, if possible let him watch television, DVDs, in English.

IF you speak English speak to him only in English, except for emergencies.

My children were raised in a Spanish speaking country and learned most of their English from CNN and the BBC. They both have clear English and no trace a Spanish accent.

I see somebody recommended Fox. Avoid Fox unless you want your child to be completely misinformed on everything.
Surveys show repeatededly that the more you watch Fox news the more ignorant and wrong you are about everything.

Our mother tongue is Marathi too. We started by using few words like bird / water. Bring abcd(alphabet) books. If you are living in India then may be he will learn when he will go to school (I started learning english in 5th grade & believe I am very good now in it.) If you are staying in english speaking country talk few english sentenses also or bring very easy english children's book from library. With my 7 year daughter, she speeks so much english now, I feel I should have spoken less english & more Marathi when she was small. With T.V. & friends they learn so much english but not Marathi.

Do you speak english? Or any one of the parents speak english? One of you should talk to the kids in english only. Otherwise, put them in play group.

Allow him to watch the FOX News channel, a lot. A German friend said he did that and it helped a lot.

However, the BEST way is for you to speak it around him as much as possible and allow him to be around other children who speak good English. Children pick it up faster when that is all they hear.
