In your ideal version of this hypothetical situation, would non-christians be asking questions about christianity in that section? If the non-christians we're discussing had no desire to convert?

If Christians had their own section, they'd eat each other alive.

The post-tribulation rapturists would declare war against the pre-tribbers. The infant baptismers would declare the adult baptisers abominations. And the pro-Christian metal crowd would be reported by the anti-rock Jesus fans.

You know it has "great intentions" so as not to tread on any ones feelings or beliefs. But the nature of questions and answers from different perspectives in R & S currently prevents ideological entropy. Also the very nature of ideas that people hold dear to themselves, without human agents, can still oppose each other.

Any how aren't most questions and answers used to present a point of view. Yahoo Answers presently is a medium where it is commonly understood that all participants willl "agree to agree" or "agree to disagree", with all variables in between.

I think such a group would only cater to the wussified Christians. Seriously, if Christians are so afraid of other people's opinions that they would want their own section, they should just turn off their computer, sit alone in their room and ask themselves questions. They can then answer the question and give themselves 10 thumbs-ups. For those people willing to join the real world that includes people of numerous other faiths, including non-faiths, they are welcome to return to Y! Answers.

I don't think Christians should have their own section. However, I do think that a person of any faith should be able to ask a serious question without being bashed by others who believe differently.

I'm sure if there was an Atheist section they'd feel it was their calling to convert as many of us as possible.

usually christians and other religious folk who think their job is to make converts and everyone else's job is to join their faith want all others to not contradict or challenge them with logic, reason, facts and experiences that show their claims to be unsound and their own opinions
