Hello Pastor Art.
A very touching Story and as they say, "Out Of The Mouth Of Babes".

As we grow in years, we all lose loved ones. I have as I'm sure you also have. The young man having been spoken to by God is easy to brush off as a product of the immature mind of a 12 year old. An easy thing to do but like many of the 'easy' things available to us in life, not necessarily the correct thing to do.

Some years ago, I lost someone, someone of whom it is commonly said "you should never out live". Being a Pastor I'm sure you know my meaning.

This is not something you ever are prepared for. I had been previously widowed and basically alone. I doubt many came closer to closing out their own book then I did over the following year or more without actually doing it.

Obviously I did not, I am still here and with time the color came back to the world again. During the very worst of the period I described, without God's words and guidance I truly feel to this day I would have followed my inclinations and not be here now.

I'm not a child nor am I now in the throws of the almost unimaginable grief I was in back then. I am a rational adult looking back and knowing what I know.

Believing in God is a matter of faith which many would deny, wanting proof instead. I can only say in science, most things can be proven. Many times they are later dis-proven as greater technologies are developed and newer proofs take the place of the old, IE : "The world is Flat" VS what we all know to be true today. With Faith, proof is not so readily available but does come when it is most needed and it, unlike science, can never become dis-proven.

Many repeatedly say "the existence of God has never been proven". The never seem to realize how it can also be said "it has never been dis-proven".

The Best Of The Season To All,

Lenny.

I don't know much about a twelve year old knowing a lot about god and the bible but I am 15 and know enough about both to doubt the authenticity of the bible and the existence of god for instance I know that the bible implies that the earth is 6,000 years old yet we know that it is far older than that I know that the bible say that god created man in the beginning of time so why are there dinosaur bones older than any living humanoid fossil and I know that god is supposed to be infallible so if the bible tells of what god did and parts of the bible are wrong does that mean that something existed without gods say so and if so doesn't that not make him wrong meaning that god isn't infallible which brings doubt upon what I once believed and now I don't so if I a 15 year old can know this why not a 12 year old why not a 5 year old time is a tricky thing that changes lots of things why not I mean I understand something that most people never put the pieces together to even think it possible so why not a 12 years old this is a question that I ask you.

Merry Christmas Pastor Art. It has taken me years and years to undo the inaccurate theology that was raised with as a jw. Not as easy to undo as it was to originally program in. God is very patient with me, and I take n o mans word for Gospel anymore.

Yes I read the whole bible in jail
and it doesn't help with much, it got me asking more question
and most people only turn to it or believe in it when their lives are being questioned
no one understands the bible, a chapter in the bible has different meaning to different people, it never mean one thing
I've seen the same chapter used in different ways in R&S
so a 12 year old would not know the true meaning of what he reads in the bible

I know more about God than some 12 year old kids and less than some others so it really depends on the particular child involved.
Happy New Year! May God be gracious and merciful to you in this upcoming year as you grow closer to Him.
