Language is a living thing and constantly evolving. We don't speak or write the way we did a few hundred years ago. So, that being said...I love words and it pains me to see them butchered. People who type-speak poorly do appear less intelligent. However, with the age of computers and texting, comes a new age of language. As for me, I'm sticking to the old ways. You do whatever works for you.

You sure can use single letters for words.
A possible problem though is falling into that habit.
Do you think a boss would accept that?
Plus none of us write letters anymore, so we are losing the art of handwriting. If we all start creating the English language, what will happen to beautiful words?
I actually think it is lazy to do.

You have lost sight of the primary aspect of etiquette -- finding ways to smooth social interactions between people. On YA, this isn't a text message -- there is no "limit" as to the number of characters, so you aren't trying to save characters like you are on a text message. What is acceptable on your cell phone isn't acceptable when you have wider options. Because your message is out for thousands of people to read, it is only polite to write it in such a way as to make it as easy as possible for people to read.
Your "happiness" isn't in question, here. It's your ability to communicate effectively with the widest number of people.
