That depends, but more than likely they'll try an easier target. If they know your neighbor's schedules, how hard (or easy) it is to actually force the door, etc., they MIGHT try. I recommend you "don't" rely on your neighbors to be your security system. Just because they "can" watch your house, doesn't mean they are.

Hi,Most front doors will open to a hard kick or shove, any noise will only really be apparent to anyone actually in the house at the time and not the neighbours. And to anyone watching the house(neighbours)it would almost appear that the person at the door had been let in by the home owner.
It can happen that quick.(no neighbour can watch your door 24/7 !!).
I'm not attempting to scare you but I'm in the trade-intruder alarms etc and you would be horrified at some of the tales I've heard/seen.
Most intruders have got nothing to lose and all to gain!.
Regards Richard-Conwy Intruder Detection.

okay, the thing here, is that nothing will stop a determined burglar. if they want to try and gain entry, they will choose a moment and have a go. broad daylight is not a deterrent, hoodies can cover a face so cameras do not work either and a locked door is not usually enough to stop them, neither is close neighbours.
However, a big dog with a loud bark works wonders

the liekly hood of being robbed in daylight in a neighborhood is unlikely. Most teh time, they will wait until night, when it is dank and majority of everyone is asleep. This wil prevent the possibility of anyone seeing them, their car, or able to identify them later. A neighborhood watch is a good idea to limit people that are not living or visiting the area out of teh area and limiting teh chanse of a robbery. If someone is being suspicious that doesn belong in the area is seen and can be checked out be having the police questions them or other means. If teh poilice wont come by , take pictures or write down license plates numbner, in the event a robery happens and those individuals didnt live or visit anyone in the area.

Most people work 9 to 5. If you are not home during the day time, there is a very good chance your neighbors are not, either. The criminals know this. All they have to do is sit outside one morning and see who goes to work and who doesn't

most criminals are rational and use a cost verse benefit system, if they think that its worth the risk then its possible they may rob that house. The likes of cctv, guard dog or even a lively street may be enough to deter the crime if the house isnt loaded with expensive valuables.

Day time does not reduce the risk of house burglaries, it increases them.
As a rule houses are broken into during the day Monday to Friday and work places at night and weekends.
Stargley enough it tends to coinside with when people arnt there.

HOW LIKELY DEPENDS:
REMEMBER MY DAD TELLING ME TWO GUYS IN A WHITE TRUCK WITH A NAME ON THE SIDE OF IT, WEARING WHITE COVERALLS WITH A NAME ON THE BACK, CAME TO THE NEIGHBORS HOUSE AND BACKED UP TO THE FRONT DOOR. NEIGHBORS ON BOTH SIDES HOME AND ACROSS THE STREET SAW IT ALL? COULD NOT REMEMBER TRUCK NAME SEEMED LEGAL? THEY TOOK THE WHOLE CONTENTS OF THE HOUSE OUT INTO THE TRUCK THEN DROVE AWAY?

very unlikely but there's always a chance they will, most prefer the rear entry in the dark so they can slip in unnoticed

The most popular time for a house burglary is in the afternoon, when father is at work and mother is creating havoc with her car outside the local school. There is no shortage of leaflet and free newspaper distributors, so it is quite obvious when the house is empty. In general, burglars are young and timid, so they don't like lights and don't like to make noise. Cameras are not very useful. The answer is to step up the physical security of your house so the intruders take time to get in and make a lot of noise. Imagine trying to get into your house without a key. Does the back door have a lower panel of flimsy plywood? Do you have lighting to show up an intruder? Do your neighbours know enough of your movements so they would be suspicious if they heard noises? How easy is it to climb into your garden? Some thorny shrubs can help here. Does your house still have the original 'builders lock'? If so, probably one neighbour in 12 has a key to your house. You can buy a safe for a few pounds and there are many other possibilities if you think about it. You will never make it impossible for someone to get in, but you can persuade them to try elsewhere.
