Such a good question......I try and prepare myself continually by listening to good Praise and Worship music, by reading the Word of God...or by listening to good Sermons on CDs. I find that I do this every day...even if I am not going to church that day.....Preparing your heart to receive is great as the enemy is always waiting to steal the word out of your heart, even before it is received...........Good question!!

First, I do not attend church because the church is within me and all other Christains and any time we meet together for any fellowship, we are the church. When I attend worship services, I greet my brothers and sisters in the Lord and see how each has made the days since I last saw or talked with them.

We usually have a song at the beginning or a prayer and having fellowshipped with other Christians, I listen and sing the appropriate song that is being led. The formal worship service is foreign to the scripture. According to the scripture, one would sing a song, another teach and each in their turn. We make mockery of the purpose of worship services by making it something it isn't.

"Church" is NOT a fashion show nor a place to look pious. It is fellowshipping to worship God.

The early church worshipped over the meal they had. The Lord's supper was a part of the meal.

I pray before I leave the house. Look at the missal to see what today's lesson is about and read it and then I go to Mass, dip my fingers in holy water and cross myself, walk to my pew, kneel down and pray before the cross and then wait for the Mass to begin. This was today's Mass:

First Scripture Reading
Sirach 3: 2-7, 12-14

Ps 128:1-2, 3, 4-5

Second Scripture Reading
Colossians 3: 12-21

Gospel Reading
Matthew 2: 13-15, 19-23

Christians should not only worship the Lord when they are in Church but always. They should be worshiping him like St. Paul tells us---live our lives in front of him---in him with him and through him then we do not have to worry about "getting ready" to worship

being an ex-christian I believe my answer is valid the truth is I didn't I got washed put on some clothes and went to church although then again seeing as how I am an ex-christian that means that I didn't care to much so the ways that I got ready to go to church might be very different than someone who is strongly religious.

God designed the Sabbath to start on Friday night. It allows a person to warm up spiritually and wind down physically. It helps to keep us in a spiritual mindset the whole day. Because it isn't just an hour or two one day a week. It is an entire 24 hour period of communion with God and service to others.

I don't as much as I should.
At my former church we came a half hour early and prayed in the seats and listened to rehearsal, and that was great.
Now, we pray a bit before service, but yes, we should do more.

I like to eat pizza when I can.

(Our service here in Brazil is at night, though I would eat pizza any time :-)

I also usually take a shower and change my clothes. A little deodorant is good.
