Save your money.
In stead of the bread machine, buy a good rolling pin, a couple of pastry cloths and rolling pin covers, a baking stone, and some loaf pans.
I've yet to find bread machine bread that equaled hand made bread.

My mother has been using a bread machine for years. She doesn't use one too often but she loves to be able to just dump all the ingredients in, push a few buttons and then poof, bread is made.
I think the last one she got was from Amazon. I know that on there, you can read reviews and probably get a good deal (possibly a really great deal on a used one from a respected seller). After all, why get something that might crap out on you when you can get one that will make you happy?
Also, one that makes jam is always a plus (do they all do that?) Obviously, try to get the one with the largest capacity. As someone else pointed out, you can make smaller in a big one, but not the other way around.

the new bread makers are wonderful they are versitile and can do almost any thing.
get one that makes. the largest size loaf 1 lb., 1 1/2 lb., and 2 lb. capacity. you can always make a smaller one, but if yours only makes a small loaf, you can't make a larger loaf in it.
get one that has:

I love my Breadman Pro. It bakes horizontal loaves instead of vertical ones. Make sure it has a dough setting where it just mixes it and lets it rise for you. It goes up to 2 lb. loaves, also has a pizza dough setting, can make jams and jellies, a ton of features. It's well worth the money, mine has already paid for itself.

Also be sure to get one that has a yeast dispenser. It will allow you to set a timer and have fresh bread ready at a given time.

waste of time and money..
the machine it a pain to clean
The mixer blade gets stuck in the loaf..
the machine requires storage space
unless you have several people to use it up ???
try the thrift stores,, many people donate them for the tax deductions. check out the kitchen stand mixers with dough hooks...
You can not get bread dough cheep that I know of..
so you save nothing..

honey, i agree its a waste of time and money. I was so excited about it, but I'ts really not that great... the blade always gets stuck in the dough, and it cooks unevenly. Better just do it the good old fashioned way!!

get one that makes 2 lb loaves. also look for one that allows you to mix only nad has different cycles.
