Then why are so many of the people who are getting rich of spreading his word driving, wearing, and living in, etc, etc.

Does the Pastor at your church live in a fancy house ?

What about you ?

What kind of watch are you wearing ?

Have to comment on a hilarious answer she says "As long as you are helping the poor it's OK to live in a mansion"

Ahem, living in a mansion is not helping the poor.

Living in a house that is much less than you can afford and giving the rest to charity is doing the best you can to help the poor.

well my friend, you're taking, what would Jesus do to an extreme.

And no, my pastor doesnt live in a fancy house, he has taken a vow of poverty, all redemptorist priests do fyi

I'm not wearing a watch, and you're a busybody for caring. stop worrying about what the rest of the world does and worry about yourself. and so what if I want to live in a mansion, its how our economy works, as long as you are following Jesus' rules of kindness, helping the poor as much as you can and living your life quietly does it matter wth kind of watch you wear or car you drive? I dont think it does. I don't judge people on their little foibles.

One of yours seems to be telling others how to live. maybe you should work on your own follies and foibles before correcting other peoples.

Actually, my dad is the pastor. No, we don't live in a fancy house. I bought this watch in Wal-Mart. I'm glad even the rich are spreading his word. Quite often, people with a lot of money will forget who has blessed them. Men of the Bible, and strong believers should have more then you. It should be quite obvious actually, they have eternal life, never ending love, and at all extents, forgiveness. That is more then money can buy, and lemme tell ya, money CAN'T buy it.

No Jesus would not, he was a very simple man that slept with the sheep

My Pastor does not have a huge fancy house...

I paid $10 for my watch at a jewelry party, such a small judgmental mind...

No, no and no...and neither does my pastor (or my father who is also a pastor).

My pastor has a nice house...not a mansion but suitable for his needs...about average for our city...probably within $10k of the value of my house and largely because he picked a faster growing part of town (I love old neighborhoods). My dad has the largest, nicest house of the three of us, but he bought it 30 years ago for a bargain price...and he paid for it entirely through his earnings from his regular job...he doesn't take a salary from the church!

My pastor drives a crewcab white pickup...a gift from the congregation...interestingly, the same thing I drive...my dad has a single cab white pickup! My pastor's wife drives a 10 year old compact (last I heard).

I'm wearing a Fossil, a gift from my dad last Christmas.

The earth is but his footstool and yes he is preparing a mansion for all of us. He needs no watch , for he is time and time is subject to his command .This is not a joke . there is a God there is Jesus and heaven and hell are where we will spend eternity do to our own choice .you haven't the idea of the the glory in which has awaiting those who believe. you ain't seen nothing yet .

It's called hypocrisy. I realize your point and it's a very blatant and true one and one that I agree with. Jesus didn't even have anywhere to lay his head. Even when he needed rest, he sacrificed that in order to teach ones that hungered to be taught.

If more people that actually claimed to be Christian followed closer in Christ's footsteps, then they wouldn't be chock full of hypocrisy and buying a fourth boat.

no he would not, jesus was a humble man who after he was baptized dedicated his life to his ministry,he was
a poor man materialy.
the reason why so many are getting rich trying to spread their form of christianity is they are not his followers they spread the gospels to line their own pockets. Jesus warned that their would be wolves in sheeps coverings.

Matt 4: 8 Next the devil took him to the peak of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.9 "I will give it all to you," he said, "if you will kneel down and worship me."
10 "Get out of here, Satan," Jesus told him. "For the Scriptures say, `You must worship the LORD your God
and serve only him.
