Servants of God are wonderful, knowledge fulled souls. My curisity leads me to see if man seeks wisdom from them.
Just like the new president of the American Catholic Bishops Cardinal Francis George of Chicago.

Although there are a few comedians (redbirds) out there, it is plain to see many have not met a high authority in the Ecclesiastical world as I have.
Many Leaders have a sense of humor, if you can touch the lighter side of them, as they are humans and require breath just like you and me.

I met Cardinal Bernard Law when he was still the Bishop of the Springfield-Cape Girardeau diocese, and thanks to him, I may be the only woman in history to ever wear a bishop's "beanie." I asked him why bishops wear those little beanie-type hats. . .and he proceeded to plunk his hat on my head and laugh as he explained.

I was really shocked by his part in the abuse scandal cover-up. Based on my memories of the kind, funny, warm human being that I met, I would never have thought him capable of that kind of duplicity.

I met an archbishop when I was -- let me see -- fourteen, I think. It was a confirmation ceremony.

I happened to know that he was a fishing buddy of our parish priest but even if I hadn't known that, I think I still wouldn't have liked him much. He had little piggy eyes.

Not all are as you portray. Take Pope Innocent VIII who had many killed for questioning the authority of the church and to line the church coffers with their confiscated property. On his death bed he had three little boys used to transfuse him although it killed each of them in an attempt to stay alive. He kept a mistress and fathered many children although he spent his life telling people they were sinners if they did anything like that. Religion doesn't predict morality, wisdom, or kindness necessarily.
