If you think about it, we consumers are being gouged. Compared to how cheap those old razorblades used to be (the whole ones you loaded into a razor and flipped-around when one edge was dull).
All the modern ones consist of is the smallest pieces of steel embedded in plastic! Sure they work, but so did the old ones!
Whiskers haven't changed!!

And have you seen the price of Q-Tips lately .... ??
I can barely afford to clean my ears anymore !!!

Thank King Gillette. The thought process is that once you have purchased a razor, there is a "sunk cost," so you will pay more for the blades. The manufacturers make less money on the razor handle, and then try to make up for it on the blades.
The cost of blades is one reason I wear a beard.

I still use my trusty Gillette that is probably 40 years old.
Replacement blades are expensive, but they seem to last far longer than those disposable ones.
I find those with 1 or more blades are nowhere near as good.

Good observation! I'd quit shaving my legs in protest, but I don't think my little part of world is ready for that, yet.
