I've had my budgie for about 3 months now he looks to be about 4-6 months old. I think he knows me pretty well. But everytime i take out of his cage he always flys away from me. I was wondering When he goes into adulthood will he mature and get used to me more and let me hold him withought him flying away?

Ahh..budgies are very hard to train. I have two right now and they automatically fly as if they're so tommarow when I approach the cage. But it is possible.

I reccomend training them for at least an 1 hour a day and be very dedicated in order for them to trust you. Sit by their cage and talk to them in a soft and soothing voice. Do this for a couple days. Then stick your hand in the cage and offer food. DON'T move your hand! xD Wait for them to approach it and possibly sit on it. Do this for about 4 to 5 days. After that, you stick your hand in the cage and try to pick the birdy up but gently rubbing it's stomach. After that you can think of other stuff for you to teach your bird.

HAVE FUN! =D

i've owned many budgies through out the years and find that the males are A LOT easier to train then females. I always finger trained my birds by using spray millet or crackers. I would hold it near the cage door and each day he would approach closer and closer til he finially got on my hand...i soon would take a step back from the cage and he would fly to get to it. it takes a lot of time and patience but eventually he learned to come out and land on me without any food. Def start working with him while he's young, a little each day, and before you know it you'll have a little buddy riding around on your shoulder! Good luck!

Some take longer that others, but if you spend a lot of time with him, he should be trusting of you by now. One of mine, would do that, but finally come back and settle down. She just wanted to get her exercise. Would take three times around the room, when I went to open the cage door, she would stretch her wings, getting ready.
