Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, for sure. If you don't like them just don't look down on other people for having them. I get that a lot, or I get treated like I'm just some crappy teen that's bound for jail because I've got a couple tattoos and piercings.
True enough, tattoos obviously won't look too great when you're 80 and wrinkled and saggy. I don't even know if I'm going to like my tattoos in a few years. But the point is that tattoos are like a story, and each one represents a chapter in your life.
By no means are tattoos pointless, they can symbolize something very deep and of great importance to the person that has them. Even the most "pointless" fairy tattoo can have incredible meaning to the person that's got it.

I know plenty of people who think they are nasty. However, I have 3. They are all about my children, and all hidden, but if I wanted you too see them, you could. But I believe that they should have a specific meaning, if only to yourself, and that they should be put in places that if you want to cover it, you can.
But what is right for one person is not right for another.

I believe that you are. It is an art form. And also self expression. I would honestly believe that my grand kids would like mine. I only have two and I don't plan on getting anymore. 1 is a rose that only I can see. And the other one is a dolphin ying and yang. Both symbolize the earth and ocean.

If you were hoping for a bunch of people who agreed with you, then posting in the tattoo section probably wasn't the way to go.....pretty sure you are out numbered here.

im sure there are others, but so.....
personally i love them, I'm actually training as a tattoo artist right now. when done properley they are art, but even so, if someone wants something permenant on them, then thats cool with me, its their body and if you don't like the look of it, turn away, just the same as some people may not like the type of clothes you wear, personal choice. its called being an INDIVIDUAL.

Some people will, it's a personal preference. Personally I love them, and I will not force my opinion of tattoos on anyone and I expect the same courtesy from you.

You seem like a nasty person since you're so small minded. CHILL OUT and let people do what they want.

you are NOT the only one who thinks tattoos are nasty but there is one thing that you don't know apparently... people who have tattoos (myself included) don't care what you think about us or our tattoos!!! silly us! i have thoroughly thought about my tattoos and how they will age and regardless of whether or not i have tattoos i will one day be old and wrinkly so i may as well have ornate decorations on my old body. i also don't think there is anything wrong with being a tattooed grandparent. my kids will have tattooed parents and grandparents and i am proud of that because they will likely be more openminded about things and not judge people who are different because they will see that tattoos don't define who a person is.
