People who say this are deluded and lacking real knowledge. We are all born into different religions but this does not mean that we are not striving for the same goal and to judge another person of a different faith unfairly to a person of your own faith is a contradiction of christian doctrines because it says in the bible to not judge unfairly. There are many misunderstandings in relation to religion and in some cases a few idiots can act as representatives for a religion and make it appear bad. Religions are simply man's way to explain God to the best of his knowledge and in some cases to send out incorrect messages to maintain their own power over string puppets. It is up to people to question the ways of people before them ad to learn from their mistakes in order to improve the future of mankind.

I think that you are closer to the truth of the matter than many Christians would like to admit. There are a great many Christians who don't bother to learn anything about what other religions teach. There are also a great many Christians who believe as they do because of someone Else's beliefs and influence too. I am a Christian because God has shown me how real and consistent He really is. I have tested and proved the promises He made to me. Anything that I haven't tested for my own relationship with God I have either seen through the reality of Him in someone else or have accepted by faith alone. I feel the need to say that the Christian who is quick to judge and condemn someone is probably the Christian who is either just as guilty of doing what they criticize and condemn or the Christian who has forgotten the source of the reason for following Christ. The basis of it all is love. God orders us to love each other as He loved us. He hasn't called one single human to be the condemnation or the judgment. IN fact, He warns us not to be judging others because if we do, we will be judged before our Father in Heaven. Yep, many have either not read that part of God's word or have blatantly ignored it or forgotten it. I think a lot of people who claim to be Christians are too prideful and this has put a large gap between them and God. It is never to late to reassess one's values and beliefs, that is, as long as one is still alive to do so. After death comes the real judgment!

Hey, friend, I have never said this. There are evil people in this world.
When a non-Christian does something evil, it is because he/she has poor morals and no conscience. Religion has nothing to do with morals/conscience.
You make a good point.

When we say he isn't a true Christian, what we mean is, he isn't following in the footsteps of Jesus. He has strayed from the teachings of Christ. A lot of people believe they are a Christian simply because they were brought up, attending church,,,or their parents went to church...this does not make you a Christian, You must repent,,,and that means,,,not going back into the lifestyle you lived before...and following after the teachings of Jesus.
Let's show you an example from politics....Hillary Clinton claims to be a Christian,,,,but her attitude toward abortion and gay rights,,,,says she is not walking after the teachings of the bible. The same goes for Obama...if you don't believe what the bible says,,,then you may be saved and God may have forgiven your sins,,,but you are not living a true Christian life. It is more than just talk,,,it is the walk....your life should reflect the teachings of Jesus....and Jesus says murder is wrong,,,and the gay lifestyle is an abomination......so what does that say about their so called Christian credentials.

Nah, in the first case they're just trying to avoid guilt by association; and in the second, it's always good to see the competition make fools of themselves.

partially, it also has alot to do with the inherent hypocrisy, I've actually had a violation for asking for opinions of people whether the fight between priests in bethlehem was evidence of hypocrisy in religion, and several of the responses were along the line of "well, they're not 'true' christians"......

"It is not for us to say who, in the deepest sense, is or is not close to the spirit of Christ. We do not see into men's hearts. We cannot judge, and are indeed forbidden to judge. It would be wicked arrogance for us to say that any man is, or is not, a Christian in this refined sense...When a man who accepts the Christian doctrine lives unworthily of it, it is much clearer to say he is a bad Christian than to say he is not a Christian" --C.S. Lewis, author of the Chronicles of Narnia and Mere Christianity.
