I am not a "Democrat" voter, but I am an American voter that will probably vote Democrat for the next election, if that is the best choice in my opinion.
As for immigration, I think that Regean's 1986 immigration amnesty, err reform bill should be repealed. There are too many stipulations that contradict previous immigration laws which give illegals too many loop holes to jump through. Also, the idea that there should be so many visa options for immigrants to choose from and for our INS Department to regulate is ridiculous. There should only be a, at the most, three visa options. Also, there should be strict limits on how many immigrants come into this country. Most other nations have them, including Mexico. Also, the penalties should be stiffer for illegal imiigrants, as well as the companies and individuals who support them. There should be no fence. This is a ridiculous idea drummed up by an idiot who thinks that it will represent to the American public that his administration is doing something about immigration. The only thing that walls create are ladders. If there are no officers on the other side of the wall to catch the people that climb over them, then what good did the wall actually do? Spend that money on more border and immigration agents.
As for each of the candidates, I really don't think that any of them will get much accomplished in the way of immigration. Sure, it will be a campaign issue, just like education and "fiscal responsibilty" have grown to be, but look at how much has actually been done to resove those issues. Even a die hard like Fred Thompson will quiet down his tone on immigration security if he were elected once his advisors tell him how much each corporation donated to his campaign. Also, the legislative and judicial branches of the government have to be on board with any proposal.
The only thing I would say is that I will keep voting for the person that I think will do the best the job overall. Eventually, if enough Americans do the same and stop worrying about how someone looks on camera or dances on Ellen, the right politicians will be present to represent to the people of this country.

I really have none. And, I would have a lot more respect for a candidate who told the truth.
If one candidate said this...
" I as president of the USA must level with the people, I M NOT GOING TO WASTE MY TIME ON IMMIGRATION REFORM. Why you ask? Because the multimillionaires and billionaire CEO's, owners and managers at companies like wal-mart, McDonalds and Cargill have paid off the congress to keep any real immigration reform from happening. That is right America, I said I will do nothing. Because, too many multibillion dollar international companies hire illegal immigrants, or "subcontract" out to phantom companies that are filled with illegal immigrants. And, these businessmen and woman fill the piggy banks of everyone in congress, on both sides of the isle. The truth is all this immigration talk, especially by the GOP is crap. They had the presidency, a central to right supreme court and both houses of congress for over four years. AND THEY DID NOTHING ABOUT IMMIGRATION, except talk. It just pandering and chest pounding for votes America. So I wont even touch it. Lets debate something America is actually willing to change like health care and the war in Iraq."
IF SOMEONE SAID THAT - no matter which party - I WOULD SUPPORT THEIR VIEW ON IMMIGRATION.
Because no matter who you vote for, too many rich powerful people make too much money selling you cheap good and services on the backs of illegals.

From January 1994 to January 2007, there are nine (9) million people that came here illegally. And when we realize we had a republican congress at that time (01/94-01/07) and a republican president since 2001 to present, we (American people, not only democrats) have to prioritize questioning ourselves: "Why did not the republicans never do anything to stop and fix this mess, illegal immigration"?
Because it's easier to have a clear 'view' to resolve a problem once its source have been identified!

The group that is being hurt the very most by the illegal aliens are the legal Cuban Americans, and Mexican Americans.
La Raza desperately wants to keep those illegal aliens from the Latin countries in the US, and form a voting base that will squash the European American Majority.
The Pew Hispanic Foundations is in this mess to its knickers anyway, and they are subsidized and supported by, the Ford Foundation which formed them. That is important because the Ford Foundation actively supports ... Open Borders.
The illegal aliens in this country almost all cost a lot of money to keep. They have become the most expensive workers in the world in fact.
Hillary and Obama have said they will support the illegal aliens. Hillary is with the Dream Act which makes my blood boil, and Obama wanted to give amnesty to the employers who hired illegal aliens... to forgive that criminal act.
Edwards is still a potential candidate for me. He has not clearly suggested he would abandon the American People and support the illegal aliens, but he has the omnipotent Democratic Organization that DOES support the illegal aliens ... and adamantly.
If Edwards breaks out of the mold, and refuses to support illegal aliens over the American People, I will consider him.
Otherwise.... Goooooo Romney!!

I'm against amnesty, and in favor of tougher penalties for employers of illegal aliens. I agree with Van above that this problem has grown out of Republican policies, and although the Democratic candidates talk soft on border enforcement, it has been a Republican President and his corporate sponsors who have looked the other way for the last seven years, even at the same time they're selling us this line about increased national security.

If it's legal and the people coming into our country have applied for and received the proper credentials, fine. If they're crawling across the border from Mexico just to take advantage of this great country of ours, I say they should be stopped at all costs -- and immediately be deported. We need electrified fences between the border and armed border guards to keep them out.

i think you will agree countless americans have had their
jobs outsorced to other countries.
i am NOT a racist, but we are close to a recession, the
job outlook is bleak, and i think we need to limit the
amount of people coming to america for that reason.
unemployment is likely to increase and with more
people from other countries coming here it will
not help things.
