I've been involved with jehovahs witnesses in the past and have left a year ago to situations i'd rather not get into. I have kept in contact with one jehovahs witness and he has done numerous things againt the faith, fornication, obscene nudity infront of two people i know with the front door open, gets drunk, attacked my mother phsycially INFRONT OF ME and i am 16 and he was arrested, threatens to attack physically an old woman, dates a woman that is not a jehovahs witness and fornicated with her, dates a baptized woman thats in the jw organization whilst still legally married but seperated and thats not allowed to happen and he also tells lies.He calls himself a clean christian and dedicated jw.He is baptized in the JW religion but not newly baptized so he knows all the rules in and out.So why would he do all these things?

This man has never been disfellowshipped because the organisation do not even know about any of these things he has done.He is an active jehovahs witness.

I know it is not just jehovahs witnesses that only do these things, its just that jehovahs witnesses claim to be perfect so this adds to my confusion.

It seems likely that the person described in this question is not actually a baptized Jehovah's Witness, and so he is not subject to "disfellowshipping" even if he does commit serious sin.

Interestingly, Jehovah's Witnesses' own statistics count about 1 million active Witnesses in the United States, but about 2 million associate themselves by meeting attendance. Secular surveys generally note that about 1% (or 3 million) Americans identify themselves with Jehovah's Witnesses. In summary:
...1 million practice
...2 million attend
...3 million identify

Clearly, there are many who identify themselves as Jehovah's Witnesses while having little or no formal connection with the religion. This questioner is to be commended for seeking information about Jehovah's Witness beliefs, but should be cautioned that such information may be of limited use in understanding an individual which is only tangentially committed to the faith.

Even Witnesses aren't perfect. But out of every other organization/group I've ever known, by and large, they DO practice what they preach. I was disfellowshipped several years ago for something most people would consider trivial. But I've never once disagreed with the decision. After being disfellowshipped I slipped further away (I smoke 1-2 packs of cigarettes now-a-days), but I still look forward to the day I'm able to put God and Congregation first and return to the fold.

Hi.
#1 Jehovah's Witnesses do not claim to be perfect.

#2 As with any religion, there are those who do not practice what they preach. I have seen ones who "claim" to be a witness but who's actions are to the contrary. This saddens me because I know it may stumble others. However, I do not dwell on the misguided actions of few, but instead look at the organization and it's bible bases teaching as as a WHOLE.

#3 Jehovah knows all. This person may be foolin some, but the truth always comes out in due time.

I love it when people complain about someone doing things, that others don't know about. Then try to blame Witnesses in general.

I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I will give you an example. My sister in law's father claimed, at differing times, to be a Witness. Just because he, one man, claimed it, didn't make it so, by ANY means.

If you know about all of these alleged actions, why haven't you reported it???

EDIT

NEVER have we EVER claimed to be perfect. Adam and Eve were created perfect, and threw that away. Jesus is the ONLY other perfect human refered to in the Bible.

It's not only "some", and it's not only the Jehovah Witnesses. This of not to practice
what they preach is a verified trend in everyone. That's in the nature of mankind.
Don't take this as if I am defending JW. That's not the point as I am not a JW myself.

If this is true, he must be a disfellowshipped JW. There are many who do not have the truth in their hearts. They proved by actions they did not want to stay or did , but could not be allowed to stay for the danger of polluting the congregation. That is why they were told to leave the congregation.

JWs do not have control over anyone after that.

Would seem that the boy ain't right. He is a liar and sinner of the tnth degree. You may suggest to his leaders that he needs a little help. You don't have to tell them who you are. I'm sure they would be glad to hear about it. They have things they do for backsliders, if you will, to strighten them out. Maybe get the lad on the right track, so to speak. good luck.

You should ask him why he does that.

All the rest of us can say is that he's a hypocrite. Why, we don't know.

EDIT: Jehovah's Witnesses do not claim to be perfect. We sin everyday, just as everyone does. We just try as hard as possible to make sure that the sins are accidental slips and not ingrained habits.

The organization can't do anything about things they don't know about. Jehovah's people are imperfect. They make mistakes too.

He is a phony and not true to his religion, don't waste time on him, he will only confuse you more. The things he is doing is wrong, no matter what religion you are practicing.
