Not a chance. One of my best friends tried a few years ago. Had his Bachelor's in criminal science, and a stellar service record of over 10 years and was turned down. He had a mulitude of experience as well. Ran our Security Forces Investigations for 2 years, as well as being on our base alert team. Sorry to tell you that.

I'm pretty sure they require you have an honorable discharge, most law enforcement agencies do. The competition for a federal job is stiff, and there are most likely plenty of applicants with excellent service records.

Not the best start, but you're better off if it's General Under Honorable Circumstances/Conditions. Check with the FBI's recruiters (www.fbi.gov).

That is going to be a huge 'red flag.' Generally on the first pass they will be looking for reasons to throw out applications in order to reduce the number to a manageable number - they are likely to discard your application without even bothering to ask why.

If you can't give the navy the meritorious service they require you give you an honorable discharge, why would the FBI assume you wold give THEM meritorious service?

Depends after 6 months you can petiotion your discarch for review and increase. I got out with honorable and got a federal job but you will have to go thru an extensive background and credit check.
