We have two new puppies that are close in age (3 days apart), a pekingese and a pug. They are both 12 weeks old. We want to buy something natural (not toxic flea products) that will easily remove the fleas and keep the fleas away. We know they have fleas because we have a flea comb and found them on both of them. The puppies didn't come from the same place and they got the fleas from our home because our older pekingese (16 years) that passed away had them constantly and no matter what we used, they never disappeared. And we know to wash every linen, bed, carpet, that the fleas could be in.
We are just looking for a safe natural way to get rid of the fleas before our puppies destroy their body by biting and scratching themselves.

Just for your info... we used what the vet gave us for our older dog and it did NOT work... Frontline, Advantix, and whatever other names... we tried them all on our dog...
PLUS I know the main ingredient in those flea medications is insecticide... how can you say that they are not toxic?

Good old dawn or joy detergent and water. Happy bathing!

OK, you've already failed in the past by not using the right products - this should tell you something. It should tell you to go to a vet to get some proper flea treatment, like Frontline or Revolution, Advantage or Advocate. These can all be used from 8 weeks of age, and they are not toxic. Flea treatments you buy in pet stores may well be toxic, since stores aren't licensed to sell the appropriate chemicals, but veterinary flea treatments are not.

I'm sure you'll go ahead and use dawn dish soap, garlic, salt, neem oil and whatever else is suggested - but when you've finally exhausted all those avenues and still have fleas (and you will) remember what I said - go to a vets for some safe, effective flea treatment.

Shame your dog had to have fleas his whole life because you didn't use the right stuff/methods - talk to a vet now so your new dog doesn't go through the same thing.

For some reason, fleas don't like Johnson's baby shampoo, so you can bathe the pups in that then flea comb and remove any that stick to their coat since they can be stunned. You could try getting some Adams flea mist and Adam's flea shampoo which is highly effective.
You could also check into BioSpot which is a topical application which you would apply a few days after bathing with Johnson's Baby Shampoo.
You could then use the Adams flea mist to spray your pants legs so you don't get "hitch-hikers" entering your house that way.
I weigh out the risk of any product I use, trying to use the safest effective products, against the health risks of NOT treating the pups or treating them with something that would be ineffective.
Vaccuum your house every day, twice a day, while treating your pups for fleas.

Citronella oil, eucalyptus oil, balsam, citrus peel extract, lavender oil and tea tree oil are some natural products which are effective insecticides for fleas.
