Okay here's the deal... first off I'm not pregnant- yet. But anxious and excited to get pregnant- my hubby and I are trying!

So I'm trying to come up with an idea to tell my parents when we do get pregnant. First I was thinking i'd make a cute card with a picture of a positive pregnancy test on the front.

But then for a Christmas gift from a relative I got an Old Chicago giftcard that came in a mini pizza box. I saw that and thought it'd be cute to say something cute on the top of the box and then they'd open it and see a pic of the pregnancy test. I'd also write something cute in the inside... my only idea is for the inside to say, "your order is in and will be delivered in 394,200 minutes (8 months)" or something like that... but i don't know what to write on the outside!

Do you have any cute ideas that I could write. I know the phrase "Bun in the oven" is possible to use too. Help me! I would love some ideas... thank you to those of you who answer realistically! Thanks!

Or on the pizza box, write "Special Delivery"... when they open it up have an invitation inside the box... an invitation to a baby shower to held such and such a date and time.

Those are some cute ideas!

My ex bought his parents shirts that say "worlds best grandma" and "number one grandpa," wrapped them up and let them open their shirts. At first they just sat there in total shock then they were screaming/laughing/giving us a million hugs. It was cute!

I really like your mini pizza box idea, that's so cute! Maybe just like a little card on the outside "a gift for my wonderful parents" then open it up and like you said "your order is in and will be delivered in 394,200 minutes"

Yep I got my in laws a Happy Retirement card ! and put a sealed/pen type test, results showing in there card. At first they thought i was being cheeky saying they could have more sex now, and then the penny slowly dropped, and there were plenty tears. Of course writing a poem about grandparrenting would help.
Or if you want to wait a bit longer than that, what about your first scan picture in a "Grandparent boasting book" available in most stores.

That is so sweet. What you could do is get two boxes. In one of them, buy a plant like a fern or something small and in that box, get a book on how to raise that plant. In the other box, you get a book about grandparents first grandbaby. It will take them a second, but the will get it, and you don't have to say a word. It will be great!

There is a company that makes something called swing cards. My husband and I purchased 2 that looked like a baby swinging in a cradle (they pop up and start swinging when you open them) Then we invited everyone to our house for a meal and handed the cards to the mothers. They were so excited and both of them kept the cards.

If you know how to knit one day when you are over their house start knitting little baby booties.
Also, you can invite them over for lunch or dinner and a movie and turn to the TLC channel and have it schedule close to the time Maternity Ward comes on and yall watch that and hopefully that can throw them a hint!

Pick up a picture frame that is baby-themed decorated. Instead of a picture, insert a paper saying "Photo Due October 1st" (or whatever the due date is).

Good luck! Announcing it is the best part!!

Buy an extra baby carrier and fill it with things the baby may need if he/she were to stay over grandma and grandpa's for an afternoon or something like that, then take it to their house with your favorite dessert. You can all be excited together. Enjoy!
