if she is not throwing up more than once, and not into convulsing then your dog will be fine. it is a common misconception that milk chocolate in any amount will kill your dog. Bakers chocolate and dark chocolate are the deadly ones. Milk chocolate has very little chocolate in it. Please don't get me wrong chocolate in any amounts are very bad for the dog. If its been shorter than an hour you can make him/her throw it up by mixing 50% water and 50% peroxide and the pooch will throw it up.

chocolate is bad for dogs but it depends on the type and amount of chocolate they eat, the darker the chocolate the worse it is for your dog. i have a 13 pound pug who gets into EVERYTHING and have had this scare quite a bit. i always call my vet or the local 24 hour animal hospital to make sure and just get reassurance but dont worry, unless they ate large amounts of dark chocolate they should just have a tummy ache for a day or two!

Honestly if i was you, i would take her to the vet. Its better to make sure shes alright then to just guess it. I'm sure she will be fine. The vet might give her tummy meds to calm her tummy. I had a dog that jumped on the table and ate a whole chocolate cake before she just had a little tummy ache.

How many chocolates did she eat exactly ? You better phone the vet to ask if you have to go there. A little bit of chocolate is ok, but a whole box...

I wouldn't worry about chocolate toxicity because of the type of chocolate and the size of your dog, but since she is throwing up, I'd call the Vet. Since my dogs have a regular Vet, if one of them gets sick from something, we can call and ask for advice and it doesn't cost anything. We usually know what to do so we're not calling often.
So give your Vet a ring and see what he or she recommends.
If mine did that, I'd probably give her a bit of Pepcid AC and Pedialyte to drink and not feed her anything more that day. Best to see what your Vet advises.
If she starts having any blood in her vomit or stool, or explosive diarrhea, I'd get her in to see a Vet, quick.

My shepard ate a full 2 lb. box of choc candies last year. When I called my vet he said he should be fine since the boxes of choc that are mixed with a filling aren't that bad for the dogs since it's not a solid dark choc..Just watch the dog for a day. If it would of been a small dog I would of worreid more but the dog showed no signs of anything wrong with him.

Watch for constapation; as you've determined, the small amount of chocolate is not a problem and constapation is not likely but can be painful and needs a vet to determine best treatment.

It really depends on the dog. My dog has eaten large amounts of chocolate and has only thrown up some of the times. If you have never had this experience with your dog, you should probably call your vet just to be sure.

Dogs do not have to eat a lot of chocolate to be sick. White chocolate is less dangerous than dark chocolate but neither are good. I think it's about one ounce per pound of their body weight...that's the amount that will harm them. Be careful and keep a close eye on her. Take action if she starts to act funny.

I'm sure you've heard this a million times, but chocolate is BAD for dogs. Pretty much all sugary things and human food is harmful to your dog's health. I would take the dog to the vet, as it is a small dog and that was a load of sugar. Good Luck.
