Remember that once it was illegal for women to vote, that was changed. Also, once it was illegal for

blacks to attend school, that was changed. There were anti-homosexual-conduct laws, in most states,

those laws have been repealed. Just being jewish was illegal during the holocaust. fortunately

that was changed.

Nowadays, we have a problem with illegal immgration. Of those who immigrated illegally between 2000

and 2005, about 50% were from Mexico. But they are unlikely to remain illegal, the laws can and

will be changed. Before you start mocking me let me give some examples: NAFTA was signed quickly

and without voter approval. The North american Union is being implemented without voter approval,

the next amnesty (at least for mexicans) will be passed without voter approval.

Just go with the flow and accept the things that will be changed. Get a life. It will not be the

end even though many would have belive otherwise. But if they are so bad to us, why of Sanctuary

cities? the wide acceptance of the consular id? state bennefits? no wall/fence after so much debate?
why some states harden thir laws but other become sanctuaries? driver licenses?

Depends on what you mean by soon. Certainly, we won't see any major changes before the elections next November. Our various politicians will be far too busy worrying about themselves in the upcoming elections to worry about immigrants, legal or otherwise. Afterwards, probably not for a while, especially if a Republican is elected as it's unlikely they'll take control of either the Senate or the House. If they took over the House, it would be even less likely as that would put Sensenbrenner back in charge of immigration policy and he's been exceedlingly down on anything resembling reform. This year's efforts to get some sort of reform in would never have gotten off the ground had the Republicans controlled the House, even though it was a White House initiative, given Sensenbrenner as a chairman on the issue. Considering all the problems associated with the recent efforts to change the laws, I doubt any new adminstration will be very eager to give it another go early on in their adminstration, but you never know.

If a Republican wins then we will have a change. If a Democrat wins nothing will happen. Right now individual states are passing their own laws. Some cities and counties as well. Some are challenged by Hispanic groups in the courts and they have successfully stopped a few. But that's where the fight is right now. Arizona seems to be on the front line. They have new laws on the books that is causing illegals to leave and go to another state. That may cause these other states to follow suite. This whole problem would not exist if the federal government would do it's job.

No it wont. It's a tool to control the masses by diluting traditions and at the same time quelling patriotism or nationalism.

Cheap labour in the form of immigration from poorer areas of the world also holds down wages and and increases demand for homes and services.

All of these factors mean the people at the top of the tree get richer and the average Jo Bloggs has to fight harder to get ahead.

It would be nice if it did unfortunately with all of the corrupt politicians feeding off of corrupt buisinesses it could be awhile. They have interests in a lot of these company's and also recieve kickbacks so it's to their benefits to keep allowing illegal aliens into this country. The passing of the Free Trade Act agreement made this country sell out at a fast rate and we continue to and it also has a lot to do with illegals entering this country as well. We need to close off our borders and stop the influx of illegals as well as all aliens seeking citizenship here until we fix our own problems, also we need to stop allowing company's to relocate their industry's to 3rd and 4th world country's and remain in the U.S. After we can put our own people back to work and bring back the middle class then we can start helping others but not until then

No. This issue will be used by Republicans to try to get elected. But other than small states like Arizona or Oklahoma, most states are not jumping into the immigration mess.

I suspect that it will not change and that if the Democrats get into power(more than what they have now), the amnesty will go thru and then the existing 20 million plus illegals here now can bring in their extended families legally swelling our population by an additional 100 million plus. They will then be in power to take over the political parties.

Arizona's new law goes into effect on Tuesday. No hiring of illegals, or your business license gets revoked. The Feds probably won't do anything about immigration for years, so the States are taking matters into their own hands. Not as efficient, but they have no choice. So, to answer you question, immigration policy is changing on a daily basis!

All you "Republicans will save us from illegals" RETARDS need to take a class on recent US history...

For over 4 years there was a GOP President, GOP controlled Congress, and GOP leaning Supreme Court.

WHAT DID YOU ACCOMPLISH. Then when GW actually came up with a plan that made some sense... THE GOP KILLED IT...

Shortly before leaving office, Bush will sign a Presidential blanket amnesty bill, giving legalization to all undocumented immigrants in the U.S.

Case closed.
