I think you miss understood him. He is basically saying that you should not limit your self to one art, I never heard him say that his art is the best (which allot of members here would agree).
But I definitely agree with him, my own Guro also encourage all of His students to learn as much from other arts in our life time. Traditionalist or not, Most martial artist move from one art to another with out mastering even one. Martial artists nowadays forgotten the importance of the basics (i feel the negative thumbs down already) everything is all about the "deadly moves" or new techniques. My fellow student quit on us because he wanted to learn more advance techniques even though he was not ready.
Grand Master Shi Deyang, 31st generation Shaolin Monk mention on a interview said "Endless practice is the path towards excellence- nothing more, nothing less. Nobody should fear thousands of techniques practiced a few days, everybody should fear the one technique practiced thousands of days".

I think it is always a good idea to keep an open mind to different things and always be willing to learn. Many arts have its strengths and weaknesses so pulling what works from one then and combining with another would only make sense.

On a side note, I think bjj has been proven incredibly effective against all fighting styles. It is probably one of the best arts to practice.

I think Phil Mar pretty much summed it up best. No style is better than another and you have to keep an open mind to all.

i think what he says has some credibility-he obviously has been about a bit and knows his stuff.

but i am always wary of anyone calling themselves "ninja" this and "ninja" that when in actual fact he isn't one. because nobody is alive today (in the western world at any rate) to bestow this honour on him. (and before anyone starts banging on about master hatsumi and sensei nawa-they are leading exponents in the ninja way-not true ninja themselves)

you can attain dan in ninjitsu-but the true ninja way has no grading syllabus.

i would have been happier and given him more credibility if he had just called himself sensei/sifu etc. plus i found his desire to show all his e-mails a bit suspect as well.
