Critiquing others is pointless, since the only person you can change is yourself. With His usual flair for humor, Jesus said it best (and I'm paraphrasing here):
"Why do you tell someone else that there's a speck in his eye when you have a log in your eye? Take the log out of your own eye first!"

Er... You assume I critique others but not myself.
(I know you don't but just to make a point :)
Lets just say that what ever I say is from experience so it came from critiquing myself. And I almost never volunteer critique but when I am asked to I try to be as honest as modesty permits.

Of course! The things that bother me the most about others is usually so blaring to me because I am guilty also. Then there is the fact that it is always easier to look at others & see what they need to change than change myself. Heck, most people won't even look inside, they are afraid they will see a monster when they do.

I critique myself plenty, but too much of it is very unpleasant and depressing. Critiquing others tends to be more entertaining.
