The Interceptor Body Armor System (IBAS) is level III-A.
There are no Level IV systems. Level IV protection is usually achieved by adding a plate or pad to cover a specific point. General Level IV protection would be so heavy and cumbersome with current materials as to be impractical.

You get the highest level possible, at least for front and back torso protection. The plates you wear in the body armor are roughly an inch and a quarter thick.

In the military you are assigned equipment. You have to buy it from them but they don't give you a choice as to what to get. I'm hoping that we get the new Dragonskin body armor.
