There is a highway in Texas called I-35. Many christians think it is a holly high way because there is mention of a highway called I-35 in the bible. Now, these people want to get the highway made into some sort of religions landmark. If i was the governer, i would change the highway to I-666 just to see what these people would do. (i dont worship the devil, but i am athiest.) Can someone explain why someone could be so stupid to believe it is holly?

I am a theologian, and I can tell you that there is no such highway mentioned in the bible. No bible I have ever read. unless the highway is mentioned in Chapter 35 of Isaiah, If I-35 is a chapter reference? I don't know the bible chapter by chapter so...
There is the way of the righteous like the dawn, ever brightening to greater glory.
There are the higways of Zion, set in the hearts of the faithful in Ps84 (or something along those lines) "They pass through the valley of weeping and transform it into a place of springs, and bless the Autumn rain that makes the land fertile; they pass from strength to strength and glory to glory until each stands before his God in Zion." That was a bit of a paraphrase, but it is along those lines.
The highway of the wicked is beset with bandits...
There is a way that is a highway that leads to destruction and they are many that find it, but narrow is the gate and difficult the way of salvation, but few and blessed are they that find it.
Paul was converted on the Damascus road.
Elijah ran ahead of the Chariots of Ahab along the highway to Jezreel.
The daughters of Shiloh danced upon the Shiloh way for the rejoicing of the law, where the Benjamites kidnapped them in judges.
But, there is no I-35.

Explanation follows.
1) They're christian
2) They're american
3) They're texan
You may rank these as you will in order of stupidity!
I personally suspect it's a synergy between all three leading to a stupidity which is far greater than the sum of the individual elements!

It's religious propaganda most likely invented from big corporations to support cheap labor through NAFTA. Thats probably the real reason behind it. If you haven't heard about NAFTA you should read about it, it's important. Google it. What other way to support the merge of three countries then through the propaganda of religious idiots.

well if you are christian you believe in the bible and once you have you will not stop and no one will stop you. you will keep believing and thinking its true. so even if ppl tell them its not the same highway they will just stand up for what they believe. they will continue to think about this stuff

you mean "holy". Holly is the plant you hang around your house during Xmas.
Texas is part of the bible-belt. Behavior of this ignorant magnitude is not surprising nor new.

Holly is an evergreen tree with spikey leaves.
Other than that, whatever...
You typed:
"(i dont worship the devil, but i am athiest.)"
That's nice.
It's 'atheist'.
Something tells me you don't even know much about the origins of the word...
But do carry on calling others 'dumb', it's amusingly ironic.
