What do you do when the security system on your jeep cherokee won't allow you to pump fuel or (start it in other words)

ok when i killed the battery on my 02 jeep liberty I could not start it the piston would not turn no fuel, I new that the battery died as I tryed to turn the piston. the computer took it as a fake key and locked it down. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR 20 - 30 MINS AND TRY AGAIN!

Sounds like the engine immobilizer is activated. Simply open the driver's side door, push the door lock and lock the doors. Close the door, unlock the driver's side door with the key not with the keyless entry, then try starting the vehicle.

the owners manual may have tips on this but if you have one with a gray key the system is not very servicable with out a factory scan tool so most likely it will need to be taken to a larger shop or the dealer.

Is your alarm system still armed? If it is still armed then you need to disarm it. If you cannot get it to disarm unhook your battery and reconnect it then try and start the Jeep.

I had this situation years in the past with a Peugeot. grew to become out to be the brushes interior the starter motor. greater interior your potential than a clean starter motor replaced into to have the brushes replaced. not greater difficulty. wish this permits.
