Nancy Pelosi talked tough when she was sworn in as the Speaker of The House, but has she betrayed the country? The 110th Congress continues to fund the war, and now the Surge is working.
General Petraeus has said it himself, violence is down, and the number of troop can be reduced.
Has Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid betrayed the country with their surrender monkey talk in light of what General Petraeus has said?

You can't betray something you hate with ALMOST the same passion that you hate Bush !! It is eating at their craw, that the Surge worked. If we have a setback, she and Murtha will be first in line to criticize, but right now, they are licking their wounds!! USMC 60-68

Comment then answer-Notyou311 long winded response blaming Bush for everything as typically done totally disregards the one reason behind the burden and over use of the military and National Guard-the military was cut too pieces by the Clinton Administration and was cut way too much in manpower; that is the administration that redid the National Guard from a state controlled back up force to a federally funded reserve unit. If the military had not been so badly cut by the Democrats in the 90's there would not be the huge number of National Guard being called up (as was planned by that administration to make up for the too few active troops) and it would be necessary to have as many repeated deployments. The great majority of the entire Congress, both parties, have made the military a political chip to play with in bids to gain power and control. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have no care or concern for the military just want to talk and have sound bites to help democrats get elected-they have, are and will continue to betray the military as long as it gains then votes but the Republicans are also playing the same game by talking about what the Democrats are doing to get votes. The military and country are being betrayed by both parties because the party is more important then either of them.

i'm merely curious, what makes it ok for the President to maintain sending help and help to the Saudis who weren't purely maximum folk of 911 hijackers yet additionally are providing an envisioned 60% of the suicide bombers to Iraq in the present day. I won't even start to show their human trafficing and rights violations. who's doing a larger diservice to the troops the republicans who best pal with our enemies or the democrats who decide directly to get them out of this mess.

of course, she's a liberal democrat that has no use for anyone in a uniform unless its her butler or her house maid, who's probably illegal anyway. but yes i think she's a traitor along with the rest of her fellow democrat collegues. i know gen. petraeus, he is an honest, get things done general that has plans on getting this war done but the liberals in congress won't let him. they have already tried to cut funding for the troops, equipment, and troops themselves. its a disgrace to the american people and to the armed forces that protect her.

For starter, I can't stand her.
But she realized, that even though the Dems. Control the House and Senate, they still require votes to pass legislation, and even more to over-ride a veto. Congress does not have the authority to recall forces, that is with the president. How politically popular would it be for them to do what they can, that being cut off funding?

I can speak to it directly... Congresswoman Pelosi's office refused to assist me in 1999-2001 when I was attempting to cut through the red-tape after the Navy Supply Service had "missplaced" my house-hold goods container (an entire apartment worth of furniture, clothes and kitchen-ware).
I wrote several times over a year requesting the assistance of her office... she IS my congresswoman after all... I NEVER received a response from her, and the ONE response I received from her office was "to call the V.A."
I've since left her district for a Republican district

Little know fact, Nancy Pelosi was briefed and approved the interrogation tactics to be used on select terrorist detainees.
Apparently she has amnesia now, and can't remember receiving the briefings. Here are the facts on the story...

I wouldn't call Reid or Pelosi traitors, just weak and ineffective leaders who are in way over their heads in Congress.
Pelosi has sacrificed any leadership in the House and allowed her party to run in too many misguided directions.
