Do NOT try to lose weight. I forbid my cheer kids to diet and you shouldn't do it either. You need to be working on growing in a healthy way. Eat nutritious foods and take it easy on the junky stuff. Be sure to drink lots of milk.
If you would like to improve your strength, endurance, and flexibility then try these exercises:

Chances are you suffer from poor self-esteem, and if you're already trying to lose weight, you're potentially suffering from anorexia as well. Being 4'10, and weighing 85lbs is not overweight. In fact, I would say you could gain a couple of pounds.
I cannot not in good conscious tell you how to lose weight and sleep well at night. If your coach has told you to loose weight, talk to your parents.
I would like to quickly add on to this. Something that a lot of people trying to lose weight do not realize is that they can actually cause permanent issues to their body. People tend to think in the "here and now" rather than the long-term. You're 12 years old so of course you're not thinking what starving yourself will do your body when you're 20. But I will tell you this... Multi-organ failure as a result of starving yourself, or vomiting is not a pretty sight to see. Nor does it bode well for families. Cheer up (no pun intended), and remember... Guys don't like girls who are as skinny as a twig! And you also need to feed fat to those muscles in order for them to grow! You indeed need muscles to be a cheerleader!

You are a critical point where you are building bone for now and the future. If you do not nurish yourself properly you risk osteoporosis at a young age then you wont be able to participate in sports.
Besides the very skinny cheerleaders are less attractive than the healtier looking ones who are toned.

Don't worry, you're a fine weight...take it from me, I'm 12 and 158cm tall...I weigh 43kg and I'm in the basketball team, you're not overweight!(your weight in kg is 38kg) I've been trying to lose weight for a long time (I'm a girl BTW ) but now I've realized I don't need to, I don't think you need to either...maybe if you wanted you could get toned up, like getting a good shape, but don't lose weight, the average weight for girls our age is 38-53kg believe it or not!! I hope this info helps. Oh and maybe you can help me for my question....I need a penpal, would you like to, because I won't be finding many people my age. Thanks.

dont lose. you are fine even if you are a cheerleader. you are still growing. give your body time to grow. it needs fuel and energy to grow, you are building strong bones and need nutrients to do so.
