There should be a doctor filling in for your doctor. Call the office and see if there is an emergency on-call paging number. Do whatever you need to do take care of yourself. If you have to go to an urgent care or hospital you should go. Being able to recognize that you need help is a good sign you can pull out of this. Take care!

Your Dr will not be able to wave a magic wand and make you better on The 7th, though you will probably feel a bit better for seeing them.
Take each day, each hour even at a time. You need to put things into perspective and get your priorities in order. If you are depressed looking for work will be almost impossible. Imagine if you get an interview and you feel really low. Chances are you will not come across how you want to so you will not get the job, which will make you feel worst.
Start with your health first. What changed for you a week ago to make the tablets stop working? Was there a trigger? If you can get out of bed that's a good start, even if all you do is watch TV. Take small steps. If you can, go for a walk, even just around the block. Try meditation, writing down how you feel, primal screaming, anything that might make you feel a bit better. When you do see your Dr make sure you tell them how bad you feel, but until then just take it easy and stop beating yourself up. Feel free to contact me if you need any support.
Blessings and light

If you're in the position where you're about to run out of money, but you still can't get out of bed and you're being physically affected by your depression, maybe your best option is to move in with some family and try to take a while to get over it. Drugs and doctors cannot fix you in such a short amount of time.
I was in a similar position once, without a job and stuck in bed because of depression. Luckily I had savings and disability insurance. It just doesn't seem realistic to me that you're going to be well in time to run out and find a job, let alone actually make it into work every day after that happens.
As far as very short term solutions, do not stop taking your medication, whatever you do, and see if you can't find another doctor to go to. You're not chained to your family doctor. You could probably even get your records faxed to a different doctor from your family doctor's office.
Good luck.

Call teh office back and ask for your doctors nurse and make sure the person you are talking understands that your depression has worsened. Your doctors nurse should call you back. If she is also out of office tell the receptionist you will be going to the emergency room and then the office may have a doctor available ( the one on call for your doctor) that thye hospital will contact. If not then the hospital will make sure you see a crisis councilor to determine the level of help you need and you will be treated.

Try not to stay by yourself.
Having people around will help pass the time.
If you are feeling very bad, go to the ER and ask for help.
You could tell them you are feeling unsafe.
If you tell them this, they may have you admitted to a psych. unit. Depending on how you are feeling, it is up to you.
You will have to decide if you can hold on until Jan. 7th or not.
I hope you will be feeling better soon.
Good Luck

Every doctor has another doctor cover their office for emergencies. Call the office back and ask who is seeing your doctors patients while they are away and make an appointment with them. They should be able to do something for you until your doctor is back.
If you can, force yourself out of bed and go out. Go to the library....go to the park and walk....just get out of the house. Exercise will help you. It releases natural endorphins that will make you feel better.

Yeah it may be corny but whatever, start a journal/personal diary. May two entries a day, one when you wake up and one before you go to sleep. Simply writing your problems down can make them feel less significant, and even silly.
