Actually, it should be, in that the "future" is not promised, as revealed when it is said "behold, now is hour of salvation", literally translated, the past is but a memory and the future is not set, all we have is this moment.

Ever read Nietzsche?

He believed that there were basic two currents to human thought; an ascending and a decadent one. The decadent current, characterized by Plato's world of forms and Christianity, posited a better world for which to live. The inspiration for these thoughts is a basic dissatisfaction for the world we live in. So according to Nietzsche, far from being inspired by love, Christianity would in fact be inspired by a sense of dejection for the world we do live in.

When I hear people say they can't wait for the Apocalypse and the rapture, I can't help but think he had a point.

We don't know that there is life after death, and many religious people don't value life because they focus on the "word of god" in their loathsome book, instead of dealing with real, living people. They give lip service to holding life sacred while supporting or turning a blind eye to war.

They think that if they follow all the little rules (or appear to follow all the little rules) in their ancient, busted, mostly irrelevant to modern life text that they'll be "saved" and "free of sin", all the while ignoring the voices of the dying, starving, suffering masses around them.

the biggest question you should ask your self is how do we know there is not many things from the past we know to be true that they have passed down but if it is something we can not see then we decide not to believe but faith is a hope in things not see and the proof that it is for there will always be people who will die for faith is that not proof that you can see but each will see it the way they will it is up to you to believe not me to make you
