Does anyone sincerely believe that non-muslims and non-christians will all end up in hell... I say this because based on most of the questions and answers posted here, a lot of muslims and christians think that people of other religions are bound to go to hell.....

I am not a christian nor am I a muslim but i always thought that going to hell had nothing to do with your religion or ethnicity, but your character and actions...

eg..
serial child molester--->HELL
good samaritan who helps an old lady cross the road--->HEAVEN

Other people can go to Heaven or Hell. After I die, I think I'll go to Amsterdam.

In Protestant Christianity it is generally believed that the sole requirement for going to heaven is "accepting Jesus as your savior". You are expected to try to live a "Christian" life but it teaches "none are perfect and all fall short of the glory of God". It teaches Christ died for your sins so in accepting him you have been "washed clean" of your sins in his "blood".

Under THAT definition then anyone who has NOT accepted Jesus as their savior is not going to heaven (and most denominations teach will go to hell).

To you and me it hardly seems fair but to Christians it makes perfect sense because it is "God's word".

Of course there are exceptions. Some believe that the "elect" (those who are scheduled to go to heaven) were chosen by God long ago and nothing you do impacts whether you are going to heaven or not.

I can't speak for Islam as I've not been as immersed in it.

Christians believe you must believe in Jesus to go to heaven. This is not to say you shouldn't be a good person (of course you should, and there are verses to prove it!), but we do believe that faith is what sends someone to heaven. It's a common misconception out there that if you're a good person, you'll go, but that's not what Christianity teaches.

If you are a Roman Catholic, you believe in what Jesus said in the Gospels, that you can only get to heaven through him. True, you can get to heaven if you never heard of Christ in your life, but if you deny him then according to my religion, you can't go to heaven if your life is spotless, for the first commandment states that you must not put false gods before the true God.

I really don't care, as long as I don't end up in the same afterlife as the fundamental Christians.

It is only through the atonement a man is made new.
No man will be joined to God in sin.
All men sin.

When you die, you're dead. There is no heaven. There is no hell. It doesn't matter what you believe. Get over it.
