How much is an ounce?

If i were to estimate how much an ounce is of any food how do I do that? like isnt the trick you use your palm or something?

An ounce is 28 grams. There is no specific volume of food that would equal one ounce as foods have different densities.

An ounce is two level tablespoons. They say a serving of meat (4 ounces) is equivalent to a deck of cards of the palm of a hand (but it would depend upon the hand, wouldn't it?)
