if you had a choice between being grounded or some other punishment, did you choose a spanking? Did you do it because you thought it would be over quicker etc?
Also, have you every offered yourself for a spanking, without being asked, because you felt you needed to be punished?

I wish I could have chosen a grounding over a spanking.
If I did something wrong, my mom spun me around and walloped my little butt a few times (15-20). She would send me to my room, which meant I was getting a whipping by my father. I still dread laying across that bed and hearing the "snap snap" of the belt before he actually hit me. Ouch :(
As I got older, I would just get the whipping. I got whipped until I was 15. My sister got it until she was 17.
Have I ever OFFERED myself for a spanking? Heck no, it hurt enough...Why would I want to get a "Free spanking?" lol

Ask for a spanking? Not really ... spankings make the butt hurt TOO MUCH!! But sometime when I wasn't due for punishment, yeah, one time I did tell them why I figured grounding is worse than being spanked -- yeah, that could be risky, then they might decide to ground every time ... but I did explain how the groundings make me feel so much more resentful ... wasting my time and all; whereas the spanking is quickly over. Yeah, I suppose I resent being spanked too. But it hasn't festered for days (or weeks).
So, if they decide to spank ... then I am reluctant, of course. Even try to talk my way out of getting it "this time, please" They quickly end that discussion with "you'd prefer to be grounded"? Or. 'bare and bend'. Then I know it is for certain and I might as well get it over with.
No, I'm not asking for a spanking; but accepting it as a punishment.
Do I ever "offer" myself for a spanking? Well, usually they have to find out that I did something that "deserves" punishing. There have been a time or two when I'm sure they must know that I did something I was told not to do ... yeah, maybe even NEARLY ask for the spanking just to get the punishment over with. And there have been a time or two when, though I had a sore backside, still I could say what had "earned" me the spanking was so worth it that even a sore backside wasn't any big deal.

I never had a choice. None of my foster parents ever believed in spanking. My biological ones would beat me with a belt- so I woulda have took a little spanking over being grounded- I was used to the pain so it surely wouldn't have hurt and it would be over with. lol
If you are to a point that you are offered for a spanking. Then that child is getting hit way too much.

I don't have to, but your question if very thought-provoking. Thanks for asking such a great question. Personally, I don't spank, so much as give a warning love tap with a bit of a sting ONCE IN A WHILE if my child does something to endanger herself or if she is trying to kick me in the face while I am strapping her into her car seat:( I believe spanking or a swat to let them know better should only be used on rare occasion bc it is rarely the right method of solving a problem. Besides, I LOVE my baby; I owe it to her to at least be able to get a grip. I am the grown-up here, capable of self-control. Hitting your children regularly means YOU, not the child are out of control. I do not think spanking is a good form of discipline at all. The books "What to Expect in the First Year" and "What to Expect During the Toddler Years" recommends that physical punishment is sometimes the only effective way to make a point to your child, but should only be used on rare occasion and always in done in private-never in front of company or patrons of a grocery store. Sometimes nothing else works.

I never had an option. Generally, it was a spanking when I was little. As I got older, it was punishment from TV, etc, then when I became a teenager it was punishment from phone and being grounded.

No I never asked for a spanking. I got spanked often. I preferred spanking to being grounded.

My mother made me write a 4 page essay when she heard me cursing like a sailor. It was the worst punishment ever! I begged for a spanking instead. I am 39 years old now, and I will never forget it. A great lesson learned. I am great at bsing through essays now! LOL

It sounds to me from reading your additional information that you have an interest in spanking.
I don't know how old you are. If you're over 18, you should look into some of the things out there on the web about spanking for consenting adults.
If you're not over 18, you probably need to wait until you are before pursuing this farther.

yeah once it was a 2 month grounding or a good spanking i choose the spanking cause i didnt want two months but my mum on the other hand gave me the 2 month grounding cause thts the one i did not like i learned one heck of a lesson from tht one
