Firstly, I am a Christian.
This has been bugging me for a while.
I can remember numerous times seeing fairies as a little girl.
Sometimes, I would wake up and see them at night. Sometimes I would see them in my garden!
But the thing is, it was so real. I was not dreaming.
I have heard of many other similar accounts of fairies, and to be honest, yes I do believe in them because of my experiences.
How do they fit in with God though? Are they a kind of angel or something? Serious answers please!

Now you've done it. You're about to be bombarded with answers from nutcases claiming you're possessed by demons and are in dire need of an exorcism.

Truth is, the imagination of a child is a powerful and wonderful force of nature. Maybe you did see faeries. Whether they were actually there or not doesn't mean they weren't "real" to you. I hope you've held on to that childlike wonderment and still catch a glimse of the fair people from time to time. Don't listen to the fundie fanatics and keep believing in faeries.

Incidentally, I had an unusual experience in Llangollen, Wales a few years back. I was walking down a gravel trail leading up to an old ruined castle that sat on a large hill by the town. It was twilight and the trail was clearly marked. Suddenly, there was no trail, no gravel, no signs, no markings... gone. I was in a field, just grass and some fencing and sheep. I spent hours trying to find the trail again, but no dice. I had to walk through open fields and woods down the side of the hill until I finally found a house, cut through the yard and found a road leading back to town. Later, in a pub I told the barmaid about my experience. In all seriousness and without surprise she just said, "Oh! The little people led you astray. Lucky you found your way back."

Strange things do happen in this world.

Children are gifted with the ability to see that which can cross the realms of the different planes of reality: spirits, fairies (who LOVE gardens) angels, etc more readily than most adults can because they are not yet conditioned to believe that these beings don't exist. In actuality, beings other than those on this plane DO exist and you are blessed to be able to see and remember them. Haven't you ever seen a new baby smile VERY big? (Don't give me the gas story, do you laugh with gas pain?) They can see and "converse" with angels. Small children to about age four or five will speak with spirits and other beings -- but most people dismiss it as 'imaginary friends'. They are only imaginary to those who can't/won't see them ;)

I used to see fairies in my grandmother's garden, as well. And it was just as real to me.
I'm grown now, and I haven't seen a fairy in a great many years...although I have seen many butterflies, dragonflies, fireflies, and all sorts of beautiful winged things.
Not saying that there might not be fairies...maybe they only come out around small children, eh?? Perhaps they are smart enough to hide from adults. Perhaps they know that some evil scientist would want to dissect them, or worse! Perhaps they don't want to get involved in our human "civilization".
Clever little buggers!!
I don't think we know half of the marvels God has created....
But just because something has wings, that doesn't make it an angel.

Fairies are real. I'm not a Christian though, so I can't say whether they'll tell you to disbelieve their existence or not. I'd imagine some will, but some won't. Fairies don't claim to be gods, so I don't see how this would effect your Christian-ness. God doesn't say there aren't spirits of the earth at any point. So, there's no reason not to believe in them, especially if you've experienced them. Sit milk out for them in your back yard at night. They like milk.

The greatest gift is mystery:) It is not the finding of truth but the journey to truth that matters. In some way I believe that fairies, visits from aliens, hearing Gods voice are all from the same place, we just put different faces on them because it makes them easier to deal with. The only real answer to this question is within you not on a message board.

There is a lot more going on here than meets the eye.

Don't let people who don't have the gift of sight that you have tell you that you are deluded. They are the ones living in the delusion.

This is more easily understandable if one considers the actual scale of the components of an atom. If one takes into account the fact that the neutrons, protons and electrons of an atom actually have huge spaces between them it becomes clear that the atoms that make up seemingly solid objects are made up of 99+ percent empty space.

This alone does not seem too important till you add the idea that the atoms that make up seemingly solid objects are more of a loose conglomeration that share a similar attraction but never really touch each other.

At first glance this does not really seem relevant, but closer analysis reveals that this adds a tremendous amount of empty space to solid objects that are already made up of atoms that are 99 percent space. When so-called solid objects are seen in this light it becomes apparent that they can in no way be the seemingly solid objects they appear to be.

We ourselves are not exceptions to this phenomenon.

These seemingly solid objects are more like ghostly images that we interpret as solid objects based on our perceptual conclusions.

From this we must conclude that Perception is some sort of a trick that helps us to take these ghostly images and turn them into a world we can associate and interact with. This clever device seems to be a creation of our intellect that enables us to interact with each other in what appears to be a three dimensional reality.

I hope that helps to answered your question.

Love and blessings Don

You need to read "Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell" by Susanna Clarke. You are describing some serious, heavy stuff here about your encounter. Fairies are neither good nor evil. They come from the kingdom on the other side of Hell.

If the book doesn't answer to your satisfaction, then maybe I could be your agent ... something like our Sistas of the Fatimia Faire-airies ... as a worthy, divine incident worth Enquiry.

okay. here goes. i used to see fairies too when i was a kid and i noticed an interesting thing about them. i noticed that in the instant before seeing them as fairies they were like little shimmering splotches of energy and morphed into human-like figures as i looked at them. i guess they're kinda like subatomic particles in that when you look at them you change their properties in the looking. i think maybe fairies are the life energies of the environment that we humans anthropomorphous into little human-like beings.

i don't know what fairies have to do with "God" except that "God" is a much much bigger energy that we humans morph into a human-like being. humans are such egotists.

What do you mean how do they fit in with god? Did your god create fairies? Are there fairies in the bible? If not, then shouldn't that be proof that they don't exist? Since Christians believe that if god didn't do it, it doesn't happen, I'd say that if fairies are not in the bible, then you never saw them. Sometimes the light plays tricks on you.
