True.
There was indeed an apostasy - you need only to look at the Nicene Creed to know that. The false doctrine of the trinity is preached in ALMOST all "Christian" churches. It is a doctrine which was concocted by corrupt men in 425 AD, and yet today many "Christians" cry "cult!" and those who refuse to accept it.
The true chruch needed to be restored to the Earth. This happened in 1830 through God calling a prophet and bringing to light a lost work of scripture, the Book of Mormon. However, this does not mean that only the LDS people are God's people. Anyone anywhere may become one of God's people by baptism into this church, and by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel.

To answer a question like this one must first determine under what circumstances God decides a "people" have turned against him. For instance, in Sodom and Gomorrah, not even 10 people could be found who were not by his definition corrupt. I don't know how big the Jewish "nation" was when they built the golden calf and got punished for that, or what the population and percentage was when he allowed them to be conquered by the Babylonians.
So what percentage of the "Christian people" have turned away from him? That can only be determined if you have a concrete canon set down that can be used as a standard for judgment, and the current scriptures are just not that exact. They are subject to massive amounts of different interpretation. The closest you will come to getting an answer to this is probably the Rapturists, who claim that there will be a certain number of people taken up into heaven while the rest of us sinners are left here to suffer through Armageddon.

Isa.62:2 " And The nations will certainly see your righteousness, [O woman] and all kings your glory ,And you will actually be called by a new name which the very mouth of [Jehovah will designate].
acts:14:15And men saying:"why are you doing these things? We are also are humans having the same infirmities as you do,and are [declaring the good news] to you, for you turn from these vain things to the living God, who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all the thingsin them.
Isa 43:10 ["you are my Witnesses "] is the [utterance of Jehovah], "even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know and have faith in me ,and that you may understand that I am the same One . Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none.

The Abrahamic Covenant is still in effect - that through Abraham's seed all the nations of the earth would be blessed.
But the fullness of the gospel of Christ has been restored and His church reorganized. Check out lds.org or mormon.org for more information

very poorly articulated. Like, who is THEY ? Your thoughts (?) seem to ramble over such a large area that it would take too much time to sort through and organize into an answerable question that is appropriate on a venue such as this.

It sounds like you are referring to either one of two apostate Christian cults, either the Jehovah's Witnesses or the Later Day Saints (Mormons).
In order for their teachings to be true, God would have had to abandon the church for centuries and just in the last couple of hundred years decided to give humanity "another chance". Also the Scriptures would have to be faulty or totally misunderstood since the days they were written.
J.W.'s say that Jesus is the arch-angel Michael and Mormons say that Jesus and Satan are "spirit brothers" and that God chose Jesus to implement his plan of salvation rather than Satan.
Do you see a similarity here? Both of these religions come along with a "new revelation of truth" whereby Jesus, the eternal Son of God is now demoted to the status of a being similar to the Devil.
J.W.'s say that Jesus is a unique and powerful "arch-angel" whose name "Michael" means "like God". Satan is also a unique and powerful angel who tried to be like God.
Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Mormons claim that God was once a man and that Jesus and Satan were his "spirit children". Brothers born of God. Now what does the Bible have to say in regards to these "new revelations of truth"?
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
God's "elect" have always been the same people. People whom God sovereignly chose to save.
Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. 14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. 19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, 24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
