In Most Countries you can buy and own any kind of property, but you can't own the LAND.
To own Land is granted just for Citizens of that Country.
Citizenship can also be granted by Naturalisation process that may vary according with the Laws of the Country in question.
To buy ANY kind of property ANYWHERE the person will be enquired to show proper documentation for the Negotiation.
It could be from a valid Identification Card,to proof of well establish line of Credit.
Some Establishments will double-check the information that was provided by the person that wish to make the purchase effective.
If the person is illegal and make ANY kind of purchase ,specially Land ,House or a Car, with fake and/or illegal documentation is a Federal Felony punished by the confiscation of all the belongs and property purchased, and Deportation from that Country.
The Person that exits a Country in a deportation status will not be allowed to return to that Country. And that can be permanently or the exile may vary from 5 to 10 years.

An illegal immigrant will be identifed if he tried to buy property in the UK and should be deported.

If he used a false identity to buy the property then he will be guilty of Fraud. This will mean a prison sentence followed by deportation.

If he used a false identity to buy the property then he will not have any legal title to it anyway. So he will have lost his money.

If he has enough money to buy property then WHY IS HE HERE AS AN ILLEGAL?!!!? This could only mean that he is a criminal anyway.

Such a person can not be trusted and deserves to be thrown back into the water as soon as possible. There are enough crooks here already and we really do not want any more.

There are perfectly legal ways for a non-resident to buy property in the UK. You must consult an Estate Agent and Solicitor who specialise in such things.

No, but you have to have legal status to get a mortgage. You don't have to be a permanent resident - you don't even have to live in the UK to buy. But how does this person intend to finance the purchase? One would suggest if he is living illegally in the UK but has the cash to buy property, then why is he living here illegally?

Of course it is quite Legal to buy property in the Uk or anywhere else for that matter. But it does not alter your status as an immigrant. In fact as an Illegal it is miost likely after deportation you would ever be allowed in the country again.Property owner or not the choiceis yours.

Do us all a favour and try it. During the process you will have to show your passport. Hmm. Non UK passport huh? OK, you'll need to show your residents permit or Visa. What, no Visa? You get a free ride to Heathrow and a free plane ticket home.

The answer is NO. Its difficult enough even if you are British and working full time. You need bank statements, NI number,P60,Proof of earnings from employer by payslips, proof of address and utility bills and council tax and need to have a big deposit and be on 50k-70k a year min. Need I go on.

she/ he would be the owner of a property. BUT it doesn't change their status as a person as far as immigration is concerned , they still can get deported..

I doubt it would be legal otherwise a load of illegals would do the same and then be allowed to stay.

Try registering your car first then you'll see that once you are in the system, you lose your freedom.
