There is nothing in the Quran that teaches hating dogs. In fact, the Quran mentions the story of the "people of the cave" who were young believers escaping with their faith, and accompanied by a dog who stayed at the door to protect them!

There are some cultures in some Muslim countries where they "hate" dogs, but this is not correct and has no base in Islam. It's only that Muslims are supposed to keep dogs only on the ranch to guard sheep, or to hunt. We should not keep them as pets indoors.

salaam

stable pal, All animals are creations of God. Feeding them is a clarification for advantages and forgiveness on the grounds that's presented in between the main sayings of prophet Mohammad. nonetheless, that's now no longer counseled to have canines at living different than for some different reasons as they're going to purpose disconvinency for persons by utilizing skill of sound or biting and an mind-blowing style of others- to boot, the suliva is recognized impure i.E. Afftects the purity mandatory for prayer; specially whilst domestic canines drink or devour from any field we can might desire to throw the fabric and wash the field thorougly( it is supported or confirmed by utilizing technological know-how at present day).

SantaBaby science and religion dont really go lol so their's no point in posting your 'scientific facts' in the Islam section.

Anyway to answer your question no muslims dont dislike dogs, it's just that the dogs saliva is not clean and that dogs in general are filthy. I'm pretty sure it is mentioned about dogs in the Quran. I will try to find which sura it is on though.

It is good that you aer in search for the right religion.
We, Muslims believe in Oneness of Allah, the Quran, Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) and the sayings of Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) which we call Hadith. Not everything is been mentioned in the holy Quran. Allah has sent Muhammad (p.b.u..h) for further guidance of his Ummah(nation)
Therefore, we follow the Ahadith.

Imams al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated on the authority of Ibn Umar (Radiya Allahu Anhu) that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "Whoever keeps a dog, two Qirat ( a measurement) of the reward of his good deeds are deduced each day unless the dog is used for hunting or guarding cattle".
The wisdom behind this prohibition other than the above mentioned reasons, is that dogs are impure and their saliva makes impure everything it touches. In addition, angels do not enter a house where there is a picture or a dog. [Reported by Imams al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Therefore, the prohibition mentioned in Hadith is general includes all kinds of dogs whether they are small, big or otherwise, with the exception of the reasons mentioned in the Hadith.~!

greetings to you sis
dogs aren't forbidden in Islam. It's just when touching one one must wash their hands 7 times and once with sand according to our honored prophet Muhammed peace and blessings be upon him more than 1400 years ago.In fact this nonmuslim scientist thought this to be insane so he touches this dog and puts his hands under a telescope and observes much bacteria. He then washes his hand once and not much was done.He washes them 6 more times and yet there was a bit of the bacteria left so he washes his hand with sand and observes that all the bacteria was gone!He then converts to Islam after realizing that this was a prediction and recommendation made by an illiterate man more than 1400 years ago and knew that this man was from God. I wish you best regards in your quest, to help out inshallah,God willing, I recommend you surf this site "islamreligion.com".

I love dogs too, a lot actually. But the truth is that Muslims are not allowed to keep them in the house because they are not clean, and we as Muslims are required to pray on clean floor. If there is a dog in one's house, then angels will not enter the home. I hope this helps.

There is a naration in Islam of the prophet Muhammad(saw) saying that a man travelling through the desert found a well he drank from the well and saw a thirsty dog and gave the dog water, and that man was admitted to paradise.

Dogs are creation of Allaah, we cannot dislike any of Allaahs creation. Everything was created for a purpose.
we do not believe that dogs are mans best friend as ppl in the west believe.
We can keep them as security guards and help with farms outside of the houses but that is it.
We consider the dogs saliva to be impure and have to wash ourselves if it touches us.

Santa Baby: this is not cultural. If you know anything about your husband's religion then you would know that Islam has two main sources of Guidance the Qur'aan and the hadith.
and the hadith forbids us to have dogs us pets. and pet them and bring them into our houses.
So do not misguide people about Islam if your husand and so called friends do not practice it okey.

no its not that we dislike dogs, we are supposed to love all of gods creatures, oits just that since they lick themselves clean, it is considered dirty, so we must clean ourselves before we pray, also in the place where wew pray the dog isnt supposed to be there, but if the dog was then we must have a clean mat down

Em is right, it depends on the culture. Some are raised with the belief that dogs are dirty things that shouldn't be touched or kept in the home, but even some people from these cultures stand out as dog owners.
Islamic beliefs are a little confusing for some on this issue. There are Hadith that regard dogs as dirty and their saliva as impure and state that angels will not enter a room with dogs. However these Hadith are contradictory to the Quran, which says that food that is caught by a dog (which comes in contact with it's saliva) is halal.
5:4 "They consult you concerning what is lawful for them; say, Lawful for you are all good things, including what trained dogs and falcons catch for you. You train them according God's teachings. You may eat what they catch for you, and mention God's name thereupon. You shall observe God. God is most efficient in reckoning."
In addition, there is a story about the people of the cave who kept a dog with them while they slept.
18:18 "You would think that they were awake, when they were in fact asleep. We turned them to the right side and the left side, while their dog stretched his arms in their midst."
18:22 "Some would say, they were three; their dog being the fourth, while others would say, Five; the sixth being their dog, as they guessed. Others said, seven, and the eighth was their dog. Say, My Lord is the best knower of their number. Therefore, do not argue with them; just go along with them. You need not consult anyone about this."

So some people are a bit confused when it comes to dogs. And imho, I trust the Quran, the word of God, over Hadith, the word of man. Especially when one contradicts the other.

there was actually a study done a few years back that proved dog saliva is unsanitary. Even washing it with water doesnt clean your skin from it, rather some kind of material that you find in sand and dirt actually cleans ot off completely.

Coincidentally, in Islam we are told to wash our hands three times with water and one time with dirt if we were to come in contact with dog saliva.

...just fyi.
