I have just bough a webcam and would like to use aim to get it to work. The box said it work with aim.

I'd suggest that you install the drivers that may have came with the webcam and then try to use it with AIM.
You may need to exit out of AIM first and then restart it for it to work, however.

you can't use webcam for aim 6.0

properly youthful activity. as shakespeare stated "if thy not haveth a webcam thy can not be seen" ... or it replaced into something like that in case you prefer to apply the webcam i reccomend yahoo messanger, you ought to use webcams that way
