I am Roman Catholic, but I want to pick a saint name from the Eastern Orthodox rhuch to be confirmed with. I want to pick Anastasia. Would that be okay?

From what I've read and heard, the name you choose should be that of a cannonized Roman Catholic saint. You can talk to your priest and see what he has to say, but normally, you need to pick a saint recognized by the Catholic church.

Saint Anastasia, a martyr from Roman times and before the Catholic and Orthodox Churches separated, is considered both a Catholic and an Orthodox saint. Therefore you can choose her name.

Anastasia, coming from the Greek work meaning resurrection, is a name that has been canonized prior to the great schism between the two churches. Therefore, it is a viable choice for you.

most of them are not allowed, as we do not view there saints as saints, just as they do not view ours as saints, after the great schism. Sorry friend.
