I am in 6th grade and want to tryout at the end of the year, but I am overweight. I think tryouts are in April. So I need a specific diet and exercise plan to help me get in shape before then. Don't stress! Weight is not the issue. If you can cheer, jump, dance, and tumble without running out of breath you are fine. Also, teams need sturdier girls to help base stunts, so your size can be a plus!

weight isnt a big deal for middle school cheerleading. practice your jumps and at try outs be loud confident and SMILE!! also they will have a clinic before the try outs to teach you the dance and the cheer make sure even though you self conscious stand in the front because. you might want to take a tumbling class or dance class to help. but if not work on leg muscles and tighten your arms up so you can be really tight with all your. sitting in a straddle with your arms in between your legs and holding your legs up and doing ten circles helps but make sure you arent leaning too much on your legs or it wont work.
