Is there a way to creat your own religion. Not something that you want everyone else to follow, just something you want to follow. I know a lot of you will not find this acceptable, but I want to be able to mix Jewism, Buddhism, and New Age together. They are all pretty much related, and I like the relaxing in all of them. Mixing these religions seems like the perfect thing for me, but I would need some guildlines. If anyone can help me find some good sites about my question it would be great. Also can I have some of your opinions, nothing mean though, I don't want to have to deal with that.

Some things I might do is Sabbath, Buddhist New Year, relaxing, one is born into the world with original purity; not original sin, "It is what you make it. With your thoughts; you can make the world. What you feel;what you precieve; is the world", and more things similiar to that. I will also believe in the 7 laws of Noahide.

It makes sense to me.
Sometimes I think that organized religion just gets in the way of being religious. And somehow, I just cant think that God wants us to operate that way. "Do it like this and go to heaven and everyone else goes to hell even if they are good people" just never made sense to me. Some of the most horrible people I know of go to church regularly and some of the most worthy people I know do not.
But you might want to check this out. Its a religion site that is neutral to all beliefs and has a quiz that asks you general questions about what YOU feel is right to believe. Then it scores you with percentages of the major religions to give you an idea of what ones you will or wont feel comfortable with.

I believe that religion is a tool to help us be better people. It's important for everybody to pick whatever Spiritual practices they want in order to be the best they can. If yours is a mixture of Jewish, Buddhism and New Age - so be it.
However - it's unlikely that you will find a church that does these things. Perhaps it's not important to you to have a Spiritual community. Everybody is different - but I really like bonding with others and learning from them - and teaching them (I'm a Sunday school teacher).
My church - Religious Science - celebrates all religions. We have banners from all the major religions hanging in our sanctuary. It's not rare to have a menorah lit - during the same service when we meditate. At another service, there could be talk of Jesus - and the love you can find in Islam - and some Native American practices. Our minister talks about all of the "good stuff" - which originates from different religions.
You can check it out at...

I don't know where you are - but it's not a wide spread religion - and churches are usually only found in more populated areas. You'll be able to see on the website - whether or not there is one near you.
If you don't want to go to church - and you just want to practice Jewish, Buddhist and New Age teachings - then I suggest you read about each of them - and come up with daily rituals - perhaps at a home made alter - and go for it.
It sounds like you are simply seeking to be a better person. If your intent is there - all is well.
Namaste!!

I am a Unitairan myself and very strict in my ways. I have fought to override the New Age movement for over ten yars now and you are the first person I met that has the same vision. If you want my dream to override the New Age movmeent, you can have it. My wep page is just for you. It is designed to override the new age movmeent, but if you want to do that as well, you can have it. By the way, there is no point in blending the world's religions. They would lose their identites. Practice what comes to your heart.

Apparently, lots of us here on Y!A mix religions. There was just a question on that recently. I'm not sure what kind of guidelines you could need, though. Can't you just take aspects of the religions you like and combine them? Who is a better authority on what's effective for you, than you are?
The only "organized" religion I know of that deliberately mixes aspects of various faiths is Unitarian Universalism.

People do it all the time. It's usually called Eclectic. My mom mixes deism and Buddhism and a touch of paganism of all things. But hey, it works for her.

1. Ever broken the first
commandment?
"You shall have no other gods
before me." That means that we
should love God with all of our
heart, mind, soul and strength. The
Bible tells us that no one has kept
this commandment (Psalm 14:2-3).
2. Do you have your own views
on God?
Idolitry of the imagination is the oldest sin
in the Book, "these men have set up their
idols in their heart..." Ezek. 14:3. God says
that no idolitors "...shall inherit the
kingdom of God." 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

Try the book "a course in miracles"
It shows you how to have a close personal relationship with God with out all of the judgment and guilt that religion seems to need.
It works.

There have been new religions created ever since the Reformation!
Anyone can 'create' their own apparently.
Sorry, no ideas for you on how to begin.

I believe in Jesus Christ and I don't go to church or believe in any religion! Religion is all man made with a lot of strings attached. Just believe in Jesus Christ.
