You should be able to uninstall it using the XP disk. When you put the disk in you should have options to reformat, upgrade or just install, any of them is fine

If its a UPGRADE you just install over the top
if its a FULL VERSION then i would suggest saving all your person data and starting a FRESH and Formating the Hard Drive to NTFS and fresh install.

Am i worried that the Hard Drive will be big enought for Windows XP and that the CPU speed and Ram size would be ok it is a jump up from a old Windows 98 System

just boot up your computer with xp cd in the drive, that is if your system will boot from the cd, it will tell you if your 98 will update..
then just follow the instructions... when it asks you do you want to format the hard drive answer 'yes'...

you need a minimum of 256 meg of ram to run XP..

No, but please backup your files before attempting this. First make sure your system has at least 233Mhz, 64 ram and 3GB hard disk space. I recommend running the setup and chosing upgrade if u want to maintain ur settings and documents. If u want to wipe everything of your hard drive then choose the new installation rather. Please backup your files before doing this
