Can You Freeze Spaghetti Sauce

any tightly sealed container will work just fine. I use the new ziplock boxes now. I used to use the freezer ziplock bags which still work when I get the freezer boxes all in use.

I freeze spaghetti sauce, enchilada sauce, any sauce without cream in it.

We just put up about a gallon of enchilada sauce yesterday in containers for 2 servings each. Saves me a great deal of time!!

Defrost on counter 2 hours or in microwave almost instantly.

Yes you can. When I make sauce, I make a large batch. Put 2 ladlesful into zip bag and freeze - individual portion. If someone is coming for dinner, I defrost as many bags as I need per person + 1 bag. Always someone wants extras.
Take them out of the freezer as required and defrost overnight and in a rush the microwave works fine.

I usually put it in ziploc bags... or even the little containers. It will stay good longer if it's in a bag with no extra air inside of it.

I also freeze individual servings of spaghetti, lasagna, baked ziti... pretty much anything like that... and I put those in the ziploc or gladware containers. It works great and I can just grab one when I want a quick dinner... or grab one to take to work for lunch. Very convenient.

i make big batches, and put in the fridge for the night, then i get those gallon sized bags for the freezer, i also have ice trays just for my sauce, i fill them up and freeze them as cubes over nite, I get the ice trays dirt cheap at the 99 cents store, then put in freezer bags for smaller servings. I do the same for my chicken broth, i like making my own for soups and just about everything!, i boil some chicken, and put the juice in the fridge overnite so the fat will come to the top, scoop it off in the am, then take the broth, and aspic and freeze just like the tomato sauce.

yeah no problem me and my mom would make a huge batch of her spaghetti sauce up and freeze it in gallon zip lock baggies. When I make spaghetti and have left overs I'll pour it into a baggy and throw it in the freezer. When I'm ready to eat it, I take it out let it defrost and heat it up. You'd never know it was frozen.

Sure, I make homemade and usually make extra to freeze. I put it in Rubbermaid containers, tightly sealed of course. It gets used up in just a couple of weeks around here, if I were to freeze it longer I would vacuum seal it.

Yes indeed. It'll taste even better when you heat it up!

I spray a plastic container w/ Pam (so it doesn't stain) then add sauce. Allow a little room for it to expland as it freezes. Cover w/ tight lid and stick in freezer. Don't forget to label it so you don't forget what it is!
