going to church does not necessarily make one a christian...just as not going to church does not mean one is not a christian.

You see? This is for the credit of Spirituality. We don't need Church or religion to exercise spirituality. I am sure there are many more important things to do. Let them enjoy their Sunday away from the boredom of church rituals.

Considering it's not even 7:30 where I live, church doesn't start for a couple more hours, dear one.
Have you taken the time to think that there are many time zones and not just the one YOU live in? ;-)
God bless and happy new year!

The joy of a nature based religion is the ability to worship whenever and wherever the mood take you!!
One of the reasons I left christianity was the incesant, 'God is all around you, but you have to be in church to worship.' I don't think so! And doesn't the vicar giving a sermon on sunday kinda go against the whole 'day of rest' thing????

Here in Brazil our main church service is Sunday night. We don't have services on sunday morning. But this does raise an interesting fact, that there are an estimated 111 million people world wide that consider themselves Christian, but don't attend church.

It's not time for church yet where I am, dear. It's the Internet; think global.

It's only just coming up to 11am in the EST - church starts in 10 minutes for the Atlantic seaboard, so the numbers should be dropping. But its still only 8am in California.

Our group recognizes Saturday as the Sabbath. Constantine came up with the Sunday idea.

The "church" is the spiritual body of Jesus Christ made up of all born again believers. They are called to obey God and to "walk as Jesus walked".
John 5:16 So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jews persecuted him. 17 Jesus said to them, "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working." 18 For this reason the Jews tried all the harder to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.
Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
