Are like I was for many years, believing that I needed to put my trust in Jesus for salvation (forgiveness of sins & the gift of eternal life), but not wanting to turn from my sin and commit?
I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.
I promise I WONT stalk you via e mail.
And please, no comments about how Christians ought to be committed (to an asylum, that is)... just thought I'd get that in first before someone else does!
Thanks in advance for all sincere, polite replies.
May God bless you. x

that would be me. see i want to create more of a personal relationship with God without so much as being deticated to a church. the problem i know that premarital sex and living with my other without being married are a sin although the choice wasnt voluntary. but i dont want to leave and seperate my family just because of that. so im at a crossroad. the only reason that we are not married is because we cant afford to be at the moment. even in biblical days the man had enough money saved up to pay bills for a year

Yes and NO,yes because life sometimes feels it needs another crutch and No because my life and all around me including friends who are Born again Christians are just as if not more confused.
I have never really thought about becoming Religious or following that path.
For me life has had good and great times ,sad and very bad times, but i would have not been able to judge either without the flip side.
I have been to jail,i have hurt others,i have loved and lost,i have had loved ones die horribly,i have had lots of really down times , but the up times are what i like to recall.
why would i seek God , i am in no hurry , i will die at some point , no stopping that , so if he exists , i will ask searching question then ! Probably in the thousands too . !
I am an artist and love life and the earth and Nature,so i can not go against my own nature.
You do whats right for you and i will for me.
May the sun shine on your life.

The first thing that someone should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.
If God is supposed to be perfect how could She have made anything or anyone that wasn't perfect.
Think about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely.
First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and figure out a way to get all of the students home safely.
How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work 100 percent of the time?
It also assumes that God must have created us imperfect if we are sinners.
One might assume that God would be able to create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.
Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect.
If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.
If this is the case and Gods creations are perfect, then nothing that we can do could change what God created perfect and make it imperfect unless we think that we are more powerful than God is.
How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.
Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then it could hardly be logically for Gods creations to be considered to be anything less than perfect.
If this is the case and we are perfect creations of a perfect God then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection that God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.
How likely is that????
Think about it.

***PLEASE BE AWARE***
The only way to be saved and go to heaven and not eternal hell is by believing that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
We are not saved by "committing", not saved by works. The Holy Spirit will fill you and change your life, but it takes time (Romans 7 and 8). Read those two chapters of Romans and see that Paul struggled the same way.
Salvation is only by BELIEVING the above about Jesus, and if you believe, then you are saved. It is not by making "committments".

I'm not not a christian, but i'm roman catholic so close enough. Hm.. actually when i was a teen i disobeyed the "rules" of the church & the 10 commandments many times, but i still boleived in God and depended on him. Now i have cleaned myself from many of these sins by repenting. There were some bad times in life when i questioned God, but now i realize i was just a immature catholic. I wanted to rebel and thats just natural. Now i seak out the right. I stay faithful to my God because through all i've went through he's still hearing me out. I repented not long ago and now am fully commited to God, but from time to time i commit a sin. I realized religion grows with you. There are stages we go through as catholics as we grow and our state of mind changes through each time period. I recently had a crisis happen not to me, but my boyfriend who nearly died. I prayed to God for help and he recovered with amazing results. I stayed faithful each night in prayer and i kept a positive mind frame. God learnt to adjust to me as i did to him.

Having done much study, I concluded that Jesus of the bible is nothing like the actual person.
He preached pray to god. He preached peace not war. He preached share not greed. He preached forgiveness not revenge. He preached all life is sacred, not kill. AND He preached keep the LAW of Mosses.
I`m not semetic of the blood group "B" and therefor it has no relevance to me..!!

I try to abide by those 10 commandments apart from anything that would jeopardise my new found beliefs in quantum evolution of God like Particles of life that float though solar systems far and wide creating new life on distant planets.
In the name of the holy black holes in outerspace.

Stop beating yourself up, if we were all perfect then we would not be in need of a ransom.
Do all you can do, it is enough.
I hope our great God blesses you too. x
