My 1999 ford zx2 will not start intermittently, makes a single click, and nothing. have to pump gas to start.?

the dealer service dept. cannot find any problem and insist that all readouts report normal function, ie. the battery produces enough power and the v-regulator distributes enough juice.

Fuel on the spark plugs, or fuel filter, or the ignition switch.

A single click! A dead spot in the starting system, or maybe warped flywheel lock-up.

Pumping the gas is still good for working your frustrations.
