I've noticed (after only a couple weeks) that most questions here are not really questions but opportunities to rant or try to push a certain opinion.
I've decided to give up answering in this section altogether (and not just for that reason, but since there is always a better answer than mine anyway, I don't feel like I'm really contributing...so that leads to a second question: why do you (the ignorant who know you are ignorant) keep answering?).
Anyway, I really am curious why you Christians continue to answer (ie, this is not just trolling and/or trying to push my opinion).

Thanks for all the answers!
What is "troll reporting"?
To answer some questions posed:
My first question I have for you is... Do you have a life outside of Yahoo?
This is a good example of a non-question, which is only bait. It's really a statement...but I'll answer anyway (since I feel compelled to): Yes (note my level one-ness and my general newbieness).
My second question is... Why are you so sore about not getting the "best answer".
My problem is that my answer isn't even unique! Much less best...
My third question is... Why do you care if people rant?
Well...it's against the community guidelines, and it bothers me when people do things they aren't "supposed to".

"So instead of being mean and complaining why don't you just help them for crying out loud"
I guess I don't feel like I am helping...and I didn't mean to be mean. If I think a question is serious, I'd be happy to help.

I've often wondered the same thing. It's so obvious what some folks are up to, yet some Christians keep falling into their traps and snares.
Oh, well, what's new under the sun? :-)

Why are some people pompous over-generalizing ignoramuses?
But to answer your question, and first of all I do not accept your statement that Christians are ignorant merely because they stop long enough to try to help someone who may not be truly interested in a truthful answer. It is in the nature of a follower of Jesus to dispel darkness, bind up the wounded, heal the sick, teach the truth even in the face of ridicule and scorn BECAUSE it IS the truth...etc etc. Holding onto the hope that perhaps there is an element of actually seeking a higher revelation in the questioner... like you for instance. Down somewhere deep you are frustrated by the hypocrisy and shallowness of most organized religion... but you sense that there is something beyond the facade. When you come to the realization that Jesus is an ever-present reality regardless of all the garbage, that He is a pearl amongst the pebbles, it is then that your journey will take its first step in the right direction... until then, I am afraid that you will be stuck with my question...

Not only that but many times loaded rant questioners pick equally loaded rant answerers as their best answers while failing to admit some very good points by thoughtful posters--not my answers necessarily--that is why I read all the answers and hit the thumbs up where I see brilliance at work that is otherwise ignored or given the obvious fundie thumbs downs just to even it out.

Is it not the responsibility of Christians to spread the Word? If people have misinterpretations of our religion, should we not attempt to correct that? It is irrelevant on if the question is legit or not. The question is posed, and if a Christian does not answer, then we failed Him. Most of the questions on this board come from Atheists to mock believers. To me, their mocking attempts only show what their faith's tolerance truly is and how desparate they are to find any sort of solace....even if that means degrading another. I pray that maybe someday they will get beyond their own ego and prejudice but I...we must be faithful and do His work. We MUST love even our attackers because we might be the only people that do.

lol.
first i am bored. and have nothing to do right now. but ponder why do people not really wanting help go to a place like this and ask dumb questions?
Although for the few that try to push their opinion, a reply may have some insight for others that read their post. So I'm saying the cup is half full. As ignorant as people i hope my posts offer something beneficial and up-building.

Why do you care if people rant? In my opinion, it's better to get things off your chest instead of keeping everything bottled up inside! Furthermore kids or teenagers usually come on here instead of adults because they are still learning about life. So instead of being mean and complaining why don't you just help them for crying out loud and get over it!

How come people who left this section are still here?
If you do not like it, have a nice day. People who stay, apparently enjoy it or have nothing better to do.
I am not trying to push my opinion. I think it is strange that believers think it is their godgiven right to preach on every corner of the street. But when somebody expresses doubt, they want police protection.
The only thing good that ever came from a mission from god: The Blues Brothers.

Jesus Christ when he left Earth after his mission, told us to tell everyone the message of hope, to all the people of the world. We have to do this in order that you should not perish with out knowing the sacrifice he had offered while He came to this earth.
We are giving this message of hope & Peace. You can also be part of that. He could have entrusted this job to angels, but did trust us to do this job, and for your information nobody can stop us from doing this.We are ready to suffer any prosecution on this behalf as we already saw in Orissa.

Y!A promotes trollish behavior, because high percentage of legitimate questions end up deleted by report trolls, and Yahoo does nothing to address the problem.

These are very good questions. I have left this section as well for the reasons that I cannot answer as well as some others. I think the ones who answer poorly do not realize it but think they are having a positive impact.
