It (Mooresville, NC) is the hub for the newest technology, availability to lease time on 7-post shaker rigs, wind tunnel time, etc. It is also quicker/easier to get your cars certified by NASCAR with the RF chips they plant after approval.

It's all about personnel. Mooresville is the center of the motorsports action. All the best crew members and talent can be found here or within a few miles. Darn few people are willing to live in or move to Randleman. All the parts, pieces, and technical information is right there, not to mention easy access to a wind tunnel. Richard Childress Racing seems to be doing okay in Welcome, NC which is quite a distance from Mooresville.

Not sure ,but I know it will sure be a lot closer for race fan's to visit the PE race shop ,as when the shop was in Randleman it was an hour and a half drive from Charlotte to Randleman .
I just wonder if they will keep the old shop and make it a part of their current museum,as they have a lot of historical stuff there.

BY TRUCK IS HOW, I'm sure...
WHY?
They've had an office there for years. My uncle use to sell them the tubing for the frame and cage of a car, until they changed the grade of material they used. As far as how that will make their car go faster, I don't see how. I was told by them directly, they do not build their own engines. So I would think the reason is to consolidate, which often improves the efficiency of thought and effort. To be honest, I thought they were always in N.C., not far from Greensboro on Gasoline Alley rd. dr. what ever.

Because moving to Moorsville will put the team in the heart of the racing community. That means better people, being closer to Evernham Motorsports, whom they have ties with. Plus it will be a bigger and better garage.

The only thing to help them is for Richard to get his mind out of the 70s and start spending some money.

Right away, It won't...
Giving time, It will improve the quality of the teams as a whole. Being closer to the other Dodge teams will make it easier to share information, travel to anothers shop..etc..etc.. for whatever needs.
If GEM gets their act together, expect Petty to follow suit.

They have all the Wind Tunnels nearby and there are the top teams around that area. Also Charlotte Motorspeedway is nearby for testing.

You don't even have to make your cars faster, if you can make your organization stronger. Maybe the motive for their move differs from your interpretation.
